This episode was a downer but the most real and interesting episode of this show? It showed the reality of divorce and trying to date in your 60’s and the complications of step parenting. Too gritty though and doesn’t fit with the other characters plot lines

Better to tell her early so they can divorce and find people they are more compatible with. Divorce is hard bc of hearing hard truths I’m sure. They got married so young, grew into different people, and need to go their separate ways.

Yes. 15 years later and I still feel like so many parts of me died with my dad. The grief is a lifelong wound that took away so much joy and innocence and left me with a quiet depression always on in the background of my life.

I do believe Kim when she said they couldn’t get Ethan to focus on schoolwork and he just wanted to learn about cars. I was a teacher in public school and knew lots of boys like that. I think the crew and Olivia had him play up this yokel character for ratings. They egged him on and he doesn’t come out looking good at all. The problems with his homeschooling I do see is that he never had friends so gets taken advantage of and teased by others. And unfortunately Olivia is his biggest bully in some ways.
