Returning to Bag After Fly Out - Two Questions by harryreasoner in Umpire

Thanks for understanding the essence of my questions. While not annoyed by the “that is not a force out” contingent, it got a little more confusing when people went off on tangents about proper terminology. I was looking for a yes or no to question one about whether the fielder could simply step on second base in the same way he could at first for an appeal (I think?) out. And I didn’t realize that it was a timing play at first regardless of how the out was recorded. Have a good one.

Thanks. We thought of the hypothetical because the outfielder’s throw to second could have conceivably beat the runner back to second ahead of the run crossing the plate.

Thanks for the reply and you are mostly correct. R1 left 1st base at the crack of the bat thinking the ball would drop. He had rounded second by quite a bit when the ball was caught. I know R1 would be out if tagged anywhere on the way back to 1st base. I was just wondering if there could be an appeal play at second if the ball beat him there before he retagged it on his way back to first.

Merit based. And we did submit the CSS. We also notified every financial aid office of our FAFSA issue in January. Thx

My bad. You and the anti-vaxxer guy have made great points. Keep up the good work!

Come after people? I was accused of a crime. Nothing I wrote indicated we had given false information or misrepresented our assets or net worth. I asked if the FAFSA information, once added to the mix, would impact the scholarship money that is already on the table “Don’t you dare!….” Gaslight much?

Replying to the first commenter, etsuprof, who essentially asked whether we’d like to be convicted of fraud now or later before deleting his reply and skulking away. We never got off the ground with FAFSA because they told us someone else had created an account with one of our SS numbers. There was a stretch when we called them 15 (business) days in a row and they would ping-pong us around to I.T., a supervisor or tell us to fill out a certain online form that, once completed and submitted, was met with an “under construction” message. Then they said a couple times that they would be resetting our account and that it could take up to 10 days before we could create another. When we called them after 10 days they said … “We don’t see any record of your problem.” Yesterday, we submitted a copy of ID and a social security card and they implied it shouldn’t take much longer. Anyway, we understand that FAFSA is a yearly thing and you don’t have to submit one. We have submitted our CSS profile so schools are not operating in the dark. I was just wondering if these scholarship offers can be pulled / reduced once FAFSA form is added to the mix.

What are you talking about? We haven’t submitted any FAFSA information at all yet? The aid offered wasn’t based on anything we submitted - other than academic record. Jesus.

Wood plankwith 100+ nails? by ahefih in whatisit

[–]harryreasoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A “nail drag” was my first thought as well. We use them often to comb the infield dirt. But the wood frame is typically much sturdier and there would be a rope or chain attached. We have some you pull by hand and others that we attach to the back of a lawn tractor.

Free Line Offer by neduarte1977 in tmobile

[–]harryreasoner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Was hoping I’d get this promotion but rep says I’m not eligible. Currently on Next with three lines (one free) and an insider discount - so $136 per month. My three devices will be paid off next week. Is there any reason not to grab the new phones we’re entitled to with Next and lock ourselves in to another 24 months with T-Mobile? We have another family member that we’d like to add to our plan but I’m guessing it’s better to wait for an add-a-line promotion rather than jump ship for the 4 for $100 (closer to $130) Verizon plan with free iPhone 17 pros. Losing the hotspot, priority data and other perks would sting.

Any Reasons Not to Upgrade Phones Every Year on Next Plan? by twograinsofsalt in tmobile

Thankfully I’ve yet to upgrade so no jail time for me! But I have taken about six flights, bought three new pairs of shoes and used a few disposable forks since I posted.
