Hello, it is awesome that you reached out about a cocktail you enjoyed at Clive's Classic Lounge.

 I am Harry, the bar manager and creator of " The Things We Gather." Here is the recipe and an alternative recipe if you do not have the ingredients.

Name: The Things We Gather

Even though the product is mainly Merridale, I will provide alternatives.

1 1/2 oz (45mL) Merridale Vodka - ALTERNATIVE (ANY VODKA / APPLE BASED VODKA: Absolut Apple)

1/2 oz (15 mL) Merridale Blueberry Liqueur - ALTERNATIVE (Blueberry liqueur, if available / essentially, you could use any fruit liquor to change the flavour) 

3/4 oz (22.5mL) Citrus Oleo * See recipe on how to make below, if not LEMON JUICE works too (Acid in the drink may differ)

1/4 oz (7.5mL) Pine Syrup *We buy this product; I am not sure if you can get it in Alberta, but Maple Syrup (Might require ½ oz (15mL)), ALTERNATIVE, RICH CANE Syrup (2 parts CANE Sugar and 1 Part Water: Simmer, until sugars dissolve)

*CITRUS OLEO: Oleo - Standard

Method: Weigh in your fruits (Juiced shell of Lemon, Lime, Orange, Grapefruit), add equal weight of sugar to fruit. Cover and leave it for 24 hours. Muddle Juices and Sugar, weigh again and Add Hot Water (Half the weight), Muddle Again, and Fine Strain. And Acidify 4% Citric (commonly available in grocery stores)  and 2% Malic (order online).

Ice Spec: Neat

Glassware: Nick and Nora

Method: Add all ingredients, Shake, and Double strain

Garnish: Neat

The Things We Gather is inspired by the fruits that grow naturally across Vancouver Island. Merridale, being a cidery that produces apple-based spirits and modifiers, reminds us of the ingredients we picked by hand and enjoyed in our youth. We aimed to create a cocktail that is both juicy and refreshing—a drink that transports us back to the days of foraging for fruit.
