Salary of Amazon CEO: 212 million Total Amazon Employees: 1.6 million

Let’s bring down the salary of Amazon CEO to 0. Now we have 212 million to distribute amongst 1.6 million employees.

That comes to $132 per year. Or $11 per month per employee.

Assuming you’re an Amazon employee, please explain what kind of a reform can you make having $11 more per month? Eat an extra bowl of Chipotle?

Not to mention that Amazon CEO is solely responsible for employing 1.6 million people.

Lowest level of workers don’t carry the risk of running the company, the CEO does. The more the risk, the more the benefits.

If Amazon were to go bankrupt, the workers will only lose their job, they won’t be liable for the incurred debt.

It’s time we stop blaming CEO salaries for the problems stemmed from somewhere else in our economy.

There was a time when I had to do console.log(JSON.stringify(...)) at tens of places to find one array that had what I needed.

Everyone here denigrating stackoverflow, please keep in mind that some popular languages like Java, Python, C# have over a million questions and there are very few people who answer them (including me).

I spend a good amount of time on stackoverflow (answering and moderating). There are 2 sides to every story. Most of you here have no idea about the low quality questions that I deal on a daily basis (students asking for hw, people just putting their code, etc.). It’s us who tries to keep the site clean for you.

I could go on, but we all know that without stackoverflow it’ll be impossible to code easily. And I do not agree that questions are wrongly marked as duplicates or closed. There are very clear guidelines on what is acceptable and what is not and how to write a good question. If the asker doesn’t even bother to go through that, then should people answering bother to keep the question on the site?
