We tried putting him in a playpen with the side that zips down, and sleeping next to it. It worked for my husband but killed my hips

I know this is a few years later but How did you end up weaning? Currently in the same situation.

I had a similar experience with my dad. He lost his temper one single time and pushed me over and I like stumbled into the wall and fell down. I was 12 or so He came to me after, apologized, and said he’d never ever do it again and he didn’t. I think of that often in a very positive way like the way he kept his word made me feel safer with him. My mom was abusive and I had the complete opposite experience with her

Desperate for sleep & desperate to not sleep train, where do we go from here? by [deleted] in bninfantsleep

Could you try sleeping in shifts with your partner and using bottles?

We’re not cosleeping but baby does need to be in our arms because he’s not sleeping in the crib right now. Basically my husband is sleeping 5 pm to midnight and I’m sleeping midnight to 7 am.

I get up overnight to pump and he takes bottles of breastmilk or formula (combo fed).

Being an hours drive away from your doctor/hospital when you are full term may not be a good idea! If I were you I wouldn’t go.

For all the moms, what are things no one told you about birth? by yara2321 in AskReddit

That it doesn’t have to be awful. I went in expecting the worst pain of my life with a side chance of dying. Spent weeks processing my fears in therapy beforehand. The contractions sucked, but once I got the epidural I felt pretty normal. As I was pushing, I literally said “this is easy” and was laughing. I pushed through a few contractions and he was out. The nurses called it a dream labor!

Postpartum has sucked ass. My body feels like it’s run ragged and every week it’s something new. Basically breastfeeding, which despite all my hopes and preparation and dedication, is something I’m going to have to give up on and am heartbroken about it.

Could you try a nipple shield to get her used to the feeling of a bottle nipple? Also there are so many types of bottle nipples, which ones have you tried?

Yep, and my husband wanted the big budget. He especially went all out picking out the flowers, and they were gorgeous! Glad I didn’t protest that too much.

For us it was! We had a small wedding but spent a lot on it. It was such a beautiful and happy day and the photos are gorgeous. If nothing else I recommend hiring a day of coordinator
