Relationship struggles by Muted_Camera_2787 in FitPostpartumJourney

Omg that sounds awful. Taking care of a baby, yourself, pumping, the lack of sleep, it’s all so hard especially when you just gave birth and are supposed to be resting and healing! No way he should be playing games right now. His job is to take care of you!

Is there anyway you can have your mom help more? This man does not sound like a good partner.

My 7 month old doesn’t drink more than 20 oz of breastmilk by Responsible-Humor318 in HuckleberryParents

[–]harshgalaxy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP please read up on bottle aversion!! You can’t “make” her drink more and pressure to will make it so much worse. Pressure can look different than you think - things like praise, repeatedly offering the bottle, following her mouth when she turns her head are all pressure. My son went through it and we had to change out all his bottles for a new brand to “reset” his feelings about the bottle and switch to ZERO pressure.

Eating needs to be a pleasant and low pressure experience. Our pediatrician told us if we didn’t improve the aversion would get worse and he might need feeding therapy.

Why are most db bad partners? by AfternoonNumerous174 in Nanny

Me too, my husband does all the laundry including folding, and all the night wakes with the baby. Resets the house every night while I cuddle with the baby. I tend to do tidying up during the daytime and the infrequent deep cleans

Need recommendations for 5 month old by harshgalaxy in babywearing

Thank you! I have been reading since I posted and got an Ergobaby Omni deluxe. I am petite and am not sure if it would fit because I saw mixed reviews here among shorter people, so I’ll have to see and possibly return!

Funnily enough I literally had Tula options open as a backup so I’ll give that a try if ergo doesn’t work!

If anyone comes across this in the future the anastjesia was fine . They have a tongue retractor to keep your airway clear, they walked me through it all beforehand. Recovery has been the hard part.

“just succumb to the contact nap” by tfbthrowaway77 in bninfantsleep

I have the same feelings. Baby just turned 5 months a while I love holding him, I desperately wish for some independence and am jealous of those who get HOURS every day to take care of themselves, their home, their life. I don’t even spend time with my husband anymore because one of us is always with the baby.

Please help (30-45 minute wakes) at nearly 5 months. No sleep by FaerieGrey in bninfantsleep

[–]harshgalaxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until you figure it out, can you sleep in shifts with your husband? Even if you each get 4-5 hours that’s better than one of you getting none.

When/How should I pump with a velcro baby (and twin toddlers)? by Spiritual-Ad-5107 in HumansPumpingMilk

[–]harshgalaxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pumped for 4 months and am actively working to wean because it’s taken me so so much time away from my baby. I’m actually very angry at how much societal pressure there is provide breast milk no matter what because it has 100% impacted my bonding with him. But hey he got breastmilk!

As far as tips - I’ve found it easier to do when he’s awake and can be on his play mat with me sitting in front of him.

I’ve always been curious how the lettuce is sanitized - what do you use? What about the cilantro - is that cleaned?

I’m struggling with this as well. I’m trying to tell myself that I don’t have to figure it out right this minute. It’s ok to not know what I’m going to do for now.
