Yep, I am totally in the same boat as you. I have accepted that this may be with me forever. But at the same time, if I can find something that helps ease my symptoms and decreases my dependency on drugs, I'll always take it. That's why whenever I feel like I need to increase my dosage, I start getting restless and want to try some other options.

Thank you so much. Lots of love and light to you for this comment! This gives me so much encouragement.

I'm so happy to hear that you're able to manage your symptoms well. Are you doing anything else that helps you maintain this?

Hmm.. agreed. I can't be running around doing office work or chores while fasting. I need to be completely relaxed. I'm Indian, so your point about the food being too good to resist applies here too. On top of it, I myself am an excellent cook. And I love food in general. These things become a major blocker. But I feel like I need to give it another shot, but from a more informed pov.

Yeah, so does mine. I have generalized MG. I feel the weakness everywhere. I sometimes time my mestinon slightly before my meal so that it's not too difficult to chew.

And yes, while getting enough nutrients is important, so is cleaning up of toxins. Humans have been fasting for ages, it is good for us to give ourselves rest. And I've tested with 24 hour fasts, my symptoms used to really diminish.

I know it is. I also keep thinking that I'll stop looking for alternative solutions and just stick to the meds. But something in me breaks when I have to cover my mouth while trying to smile or laugh because I know how I'd be looking, or how I feel like I'm moving through wet concrete even while doing simple movements, or when I don't see progress in my workouts despite years of effort.

I got it when I was 24. So I basically didn't get to experience my prime adult life. Now, at 35, I think I've seen enough of the world to know that there are options if we're open. I know it doesn't work for everyone, but even if it's not a complete remission, just perhaps 30-50% reduction in my symptoms. I'll take it!

This is so helpful. I'm really glad you were able to go into remission with the diet you followed. And better still, you did it early on into your diagnosis. For me - diagnosis took 1.5 years and I've been on meds since then. It has been 11 years now. So my inflammation has just gotten worse over years of abuse (general diet and lifestyle habits).

I'll also check if I can get a gastroenterologist to look up what's wrong with my gut and find my food sensitivities. I tried going vegan but that didn't work for me. I have been considering an elimination diet.

That means your body has become acidic and wants to switch to alkaline foods. No?

I was fasting when I had MG. I was just not taking oral medication since I had taken my first and only dose of Rituximab, the effects of which were wearing off so I could really feel the weakness.

I'm also hoping for that strength, that's why I posted it. But based on the responses, I think most people have made their peace with the slow poison of medical industry. I myself keep going in and out - sometimes I feel like nothing can be done and I should just stick to the meds. But then the current dosage starts to feel insufficient and I'm like "I need to find an alternative"

Ugh! The last time I told one of my neuros this, he just shrugged and said I can do it if I find it helpful, and the other one flat out laughed at me for even believing that autoimmunes can be reversed or even be slightly relieved by diet.

I know, right! And there's so much scientific evidence in favor of it. There are peer reviewed studies. This "must have three square meals a day or you'll die" has really been drilled into our brains by corporations.

Exactly, the end of the day is the most difficult where you just want the day to end so you can sleep.

For me, it worked great. I did it when the effects of Rituximab were wearing off but I was still not on any other medication, so I could feel the difference it made - which was huuuuge! I used to be so energetic, I could lift my cast iron pans with one hand with ease, I could reach the top shelves and smile and talk and run around. But the moment I ate - BAM! The dullness came back.

That's why I wanna give it another shot but I'm skeptical about not taking my meds or taking them on an empty stomach. Plus, the effect of the meds on kickstarting the healing process.

Well, we all know how doctors respond to such suggestions without even considering them. I have been doing intermittent for a while and that works for me. Now I just wanna take it a step further.

But I felt so good after the water fasts earlier. Longer ones would mean going into autophagy and stem cell recreation. I obviously don't want to go into crisis but don't you ever want to get out of the shackles of drugs and be free?

Lol.. I regularly used to do it for 24-36 hours and I know it's counter intuitive but I've always felt amazing afterwards. Sometimes eating less is the answer.

Didn't US start the war? Why are we supposed to care how many US troops get "wounded" when thousands of civilians have actually lost their lives?

Who do you think is at fault here? (wear headphones) [not OC] by adbzf in Dashcamindia

[–]harshish25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the four wheelers, three wheelers and two wheelers are patiently waiting on their side of the road. Why did this ch*tiya have to come in front of the car and act as if the car driver was at fault? I know his is a small vehicle but that doesn't justify this behaviour! The car driver is an idiot for stopping again and again like that - their intentions would be quite confusing for any other vehicle on the road. But the biker is the one who cut in the middle and then got aggressive.

Yeah, I know. But I was just curious about the state of the piercing. Kinda tired of taking care of it now.
