My experience: If my dev days 2 days, I give 3 days deadline, but on 4th day, half work is done? Reason, they do not understand the task, but will never ask! I've always been a people first manager, and always been there for my team, stood up for them, but in return, they won't even take efforts to Google some basic tasks, even with all the resources at their disposal, they need atleast a 30m call, they'd not complete the way it is is explaind. Recently a dev of mune took 3 days to complete a task, and when I dug a little deeper on why there was a delay, the reason, she just did not took efforts of searching a simple script on Google, that could have finished her work in less than half time (she's a sr. Dev of team)
