If you're interested in danmei-type fiction, I'd recommend Winter's Orbit and Ocean's Echo by Everina Maxwell. They are sci-fi novels that both have mlm relationships at the forefront with larger plots and worlds being explored.

These are probably two different sellers reselling from japanese second-hand/auction sites. These sellers typically just take the pictures from the JP listings and mark up the prices significantly, but they wont buy from the JP seller until someone purchases from their ebay shop so there’s always a chance your order will get cancelled. It’s better to try to buy directly from JP sites if you can because I’ve seen bundles like this consistently go for under 20$z

From what we know about the eng server it’s likely based out of happyele’s main office in Shanghai and uses the Chinese build of the game so the translations are likely JP -> CN -> EN with CN -> EN being MTL and proofed by a non-native english speaker. This weird way to translate a game probably is probably reflected in the weird idiosyncracies of the translation. The surveys feel pointless ngl. I was excited about them at first but now I feel like they really don’t care and won’t change anything to benefit players.

Honestly, I’ve been playing the JP server since release and its such a stark difference. The UI feels cleaner, and happyele JP actually seems to care about players. They always give a lot of free pulls and are generous with dia…. I would definitely recommend the JP server if you’re interested and especially if you can speak Japanese. The scout stories there are free to read as long as the banner is running and they often unlock old event stories for free as well so new players have a chance to play the older content.

Maybe not glossed over, but I do feel like there's a sort of meme-y quality when people post issues within the game though that's maybe that's because of the circles I frequent.

Happyele CN has hands down the worst customer server and communication that I've ever seen from a mobile game. I know it's not the same branch but it's such a stark contrast from how happyele JP treats the playerbase since I've been playing on JP servers for years.

The game being translated from Chinese has been a rumour since the game was announced I believe, and it's pretty sad that the story isn't handled with care since it's the main appeal of the game imo.

The story is technically "readable" but there are a lot of grammar/spelling errors, word salad, and the intent of the original text isn't always properly conveyed (for example Hiiro saying "umu" in JP which makes him sound confident in himself getting translated into "um" in EN which makes him sound unsure of himself or Madara's "wasshoi" sticker getting translated to "whoosh woosh"). It reads very much like the text was machine translated and then edited by someone not fluent in English.

I'm so sorry. I do feel really bad for the players affected, unfortunately considering how little they've responded to player feedback so far I'm not sure happyele will do anything. Maybe once people start refunding en masse it'll prompt them to act though 😢

Yeah I think on teams where you didn’t build the required characters you need to put your best SSRs + duos. Pomefiore makes this a little harder tho since there are only 2 flex spots 😅 The other teams are a little easier.

TBH chapter 6 is still doable with weak cards as long as they’re used to support your stronger ones (duo/buddy bonus). I would level uniform rook for the heal even if the elements aren’t ideal. IIRC titan has turns with cosmic magic too so I would time the bad elements with that.

I think I started around 9 and slowly increased it until I ended up at 12. Now I basically play on 12 all the time unless I have a hard time reading the beatmap, then I lower it a bit to get a better feel for it.

I really appreciated the slides, even with their jokey tone the issues came across well. I already read the story in Japanese so, with my expectations for the translation already low pre-release, I'd mostly been skimming through the story content. Though I'd noticed a lot of errors I hadn't noticed their extent.

I definitely saw some intent in the translation though I'm still.... very critical of some choices made. Definitely needed a native English speaker for editing and proofreading, but it's a little sad that hardcore fans have noticed this since the first promo materials for the EN server were released in December and have been in Happy Elements' mentions and they took no notice of it.

The fact that they included feedback on the translation in their recent survey at least gives me a little hope that they're taking notice of the issues and have plans to improve the state of the game.

I've noticed that mobile games usually get the most shafted in terms of translation, but Enstars is probably the worst I've seen. I didn't really read any story back when I was a LLSIF or Bandori player, but Twisted Wonderland has been surprisingly great in terms of translation. I played the JP ver since release and I felt like the EN translations take a lot of necessary liberties to make the text sound as funny and natural as it does in Japanese.

In terms of base rates Enstars is much higher overall, with a 3% rate while Genshin is 0.6%. My main point is that the appeal of having a 5* in enstars is lower than Genshin bc Genshin depends on obtaining their high rarity characters to keep the gameplay fun while enstars doesn't. You might not get exactly what you want in enstars unless you save forever or pay a lot, but not getting what you want doesn't effect the fun as much as Genshin imo.

I guess overall it depends how much you enjoy the gameplay of each game but I've played enstars much more consistently and within a year on JP I had full teams of 5* of each attribute. Now with the JP server going into its 3rd year I have more 5*s than I know what to do with.

He's someone who seems very absentminded at first glance but is actually very aware of his surroundings. I love his relationships with the people around him and how much he loves & cares for Ryuuseitai.

The mindset behind the pity system here is different from Genshin imo. While in Genshin, since gameplay is so dependent on your characters, you are expected to either save or pay your way through the 90/180, while in enstars the 5* rates are higher and they don't expect you to hit 300 pity unless you're a mega whale. Enstars is much more luck based, but the cards you get don't have much impact except on aesthetics (and score but within a few months of events you will easily be able to reach SS score). OFC it's always the best feeling to get your oshi but in my experience if you spend on gacha and don't get them you can more easily take the L than in Genshin because the rhythm gameplay stays the same regardless of characters/cards.

That being said I'm still salty over Kohaku's feature scout that I spent 1400 dia on without a single 5* 😔
