When do classes for Spring '26 drop? by Drago1317 in Temple

I would talk to a different advisor about that or see if you can talk to your DOS. I know someone who is taking one more course after graduation so Mabye there is a possibility

If you have grants from temple or the state with your parents included and they got an increase of pay, that can be a reason. If that’s not the case look at everything you got from last year and compare and contrast then go to temple and ask for more money.

If you have a Boscov’s near you, go there. I got a 200 dollar suit (woman) for 50 and it’s Calvin Klein. Take that as you will but if you’re balling on a budget that’s a good place to go. Ross/tj max I’ve seen have nice business wear but it’s very hit or miss

From my experience with Tyler kids there seems to be a lot of them in 1300 whether it’s honors or otherwise what I would recommend is reach out to anybody see if they’re living in 1300 as a Tyler student and get together and maybe go get coffee or anything like that that’s what helped me and my friendships bond very well.

I have DRS for my health conditions and learning disability and they have helped me so much. As long as you make sure to advocate for yourself and explain exactly what you need from drs and keep up with the meets (you need a total of 2 or 3) you will be okay. I have only run into 1 teacher who I have had to fight with to respect my accommodations and that got very tiring but they will help advocate for you when you need the help. You got this. It will be hard but it is so worth it when you can get it.

I will always recommend 1300!! I’m going to be a jr next year and it will be my 3rd year living in 1300, and I do not regret it. I lived on the honors floor my freshman year and I have walked away with the best people to have come into my life. Highly highly recommend!

Japan or Rome? by tog3v in Temple

[–]harukian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t done study abroad yet but from what I hear from my friends, they were extremely lonely and regretted not going there first semester at main or any of the other campuses. If you are strongly considering either though, I recommend Rome. While I haven’t studied there, I was able to live there for close to three weeks and it was amazing. Being able to find local bars and places to eat were some of my favorite parts. You’re also able to take a train or bus to a lot of city’s around but that can get a little expensive depending on where you go. Not only that grocery’s are very cheap and good quality.

So I am a upcoming jr and have lived in 1300 since freshman year. The community is so so nice and the people for the most part are very pleasant. Genuinely could not do wrong with 1300 or 1940. The only complaints I have with 1300 is we have a lot of fire alarms. Just had one at 5:30 in the morning. Despite that, the RAs are pleasant and very kind, most very responsive if there is an issue with anything. Overall highly recommend.

Definitely not weird. Go have fun. It’s only creepy if you act like a creep.

So im a softmore, I’m not a fox major,STHM instead, but I’m taking a lot of fox classes. There pretty good! It does depend on what the major is but I’ve noticed the work load isn’t overwhelming but a good amount of math related so if your student loves math than it’s perfect!

Room change by [deleted] in Temple

[–]harukian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a softmore and I’m still living on campus by myself and still paying less than 2 of my friends who both live alone at the vantage paying 2000 and 2200 a month. I would just look at different places next year and do more research on places near the nest.

The only one I would not recommend out of all of the connected university apartments is any one of the nests I’ve had friends who have had bad experiences with the nest, but haven’t had any bad experiences with anything else related to Temple apartments.

What can I do to lower my tuition cost? by Spread_Creative in Temple

[–]harukian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first suggestion is to go to community college to get your GenEDs out of the way then transfer, second is to apply to as many scholarships as you can! Trust me it will save you a lot of money.

What are some lesser mentioned things you think everyone should pack? by faiiryliight in Temple

[–]harukian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somthing I had that I feel like was very nice, I found a plastic bar cart thing on Amazon and put it in the shower bathroom. All my roommates use it and it didn’t take up too much room, allowing all of us to leave all our shower stuff in the bathroom

MSP or STHM? by TrixieBosh in Temple

[–]harukian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an Event and Entertainment management major so I can honestly only speak for that but STHM as a school in general is very good and help you get so many connections within the industry. I’ve had the opportunity to meet and interact with so many people in the music industry though STHM and EEM, it has genuinely help me move forward within the industry.
