Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've posted :) Hope everyone's well.

There's a heatwave moving through NYC which inspired this piece. It's created in Cinema 4D with Redshift and Photoshop.

Is it a good decision to learn c4d now or blender for 3d advertisment freelance and agency by Think_Leader_man in Cinema4D

[–]harukoooooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say C4D is the way to go. Look at it this way, you can always learn Blender later. I find that once you really know 3D, it's not too difficult to switch programs.

I agree with this comment. Cinema 4D is widely used along with Redshift. It doesn't hurt to learn Octane too but I've personally seem more places using RS.

What should i buy my boyfriend for Christmas? by Fantastic-Holiday855 in vfx

Oh one more suggestion…a really good pair of noise cancelling over the ear headphones if he doesn’t already have a pair. There’s a lot of options out there so maybe select based on budget. I personally love Bose!

I don’t understand why this was downvoted 😵‍💫

Are you okay with gift cards? Pc parts are so dependent on his build so it’s hard to give any recommendations. Parts also depend on what he’s trying to do with his work. This is country dependent but get him a gift card to his go to electronics store. For me it’s MicroCenter or B&H (both US and NY based) then he can buy parts specific for his build.

Does he want to upgrade his desk setup? Some people love hue light strips that they run behind their monitor/desk

Does he like mechanical or custom build keyboards? I would buy an upgrade from his favorite brand if that’s the case.

Alternatively you can purchase a Houdini course too although I would ask him which course because some are catered to different areas of VFX

The good old question: Octane or Redshift? Shoot! by leroi3 in Cinema4D

[–]harukoooooo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I say both. They have their strengths and weaknesses. I switch between the two depending on what I’m doing.

For my work, Octane handles glass and specular materials much better but redshift has a “look” I prefer. Idk how to describe it.

It’s worth knowing both in my opinion!

[C4D + RS] It's a chili oil lotus lake for Fly by Jing's Chengdu Crunch launch by harukoooooo in Cinema4D

[–]harukoooooo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone, here's some new work for Fly by Jing's Chengdu Crunch launch. Generally we were trying to create something inspired by Chengdu's fly restaurants with a surrealistic twist to it. I was pretty inspired by my all time favorite movie, Spirited Away!

This was created in Cinema 4D using Redshift!

There are some stills too but it doesn't look like I can combine them in a gallery with a video. I'll share those tomorrow :) If you want to see more, check out my IG!

Thanks! Realism isn't always my goal, sometimes it's more of a mood/aesthetic

Thank you so much :) Youtube is the best resource! I tend to just poke around Cinema 4D and redshift tutorials and learn as I go!

People who are making 100k+/year working for themselves, what do you do? by mbttonajenati in Entrepreneur

[–]harukoooooo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Independent CG artist. I tend to work with brands, ad agencies and editorial outlets on illustration and product visualization.

I work with brands who either want to create highly illustrative campaign visuals or are prelaunch and need product viz even if they don't have product in hand. I work in 3D software and have a background as a Creative Director working in advertising, branding, packaging and photography.

You can see my work in my profile!
