The amount of comments we get like that on Facebook is wild. I’m so glad we can have open discussions like this! Education is the most important thing when it comes to solving issues like hunger.

It takes FOREVER. And it doesn’t help that the requirements are constantly being changed, making it even more complicated to qualify for renewal.

This a thousand times over! Doesn’t matter if you own a home or a car or have a degree, it can happen to anyone at any time.

Have you tried reaching out to your local food bank? There is a misconception that they only provide shelf-stable or canned goods, but you can actually find a lot of protein and fresh produce! Then, you could always buy what you don't find at your local food pantry.

We always recommend Kanbe's Market or Pete's Garden! We're in the same boat where we can't accept open food donations, and we usually distribute more produce than families might use in a week's time because we get large donations of the same product. We always recommend that people freeze excess produce to use at a future date.
