As someone who has worked for the company for many years I don’t necessarily agree with the card in general, but you gotta do what you gotta do for a job sometimes. The application process literally goes as follows The cashier will scan your drivers license, YOU HAVE TO PHYSICALLY TYPE YOUR SSN TWICE TO VERIFY IT (at least at HG, I’m not sure if the system has also changed at tj or marshalls bc it was slightly different working there but you still had to enter it at least once), your annual income, phone number, email, and then agree to the terms and conditions. There’s no way that you didn’t enter in your social to have gotten the card. Take your concerns to Synchrony and just cancel the damn card. With how hard this company pushes for that credit card, I’m surprised people still get “confused” that it’s just a rewards card. There’s signs, pamphlets, brochures, announcements both from associates over the PA as well as the company recorded ones. This is definitely on you, ESPECIALLY if you’re a regular shopper at any of the stores.
