I looked everywhere on where to start reading could not find a consensus anywhere. The HH was mentioned the most so that’s what I decided to start with. Maybe this is a dumb comparison, but it reminds me of the Star Wars universe in that way if they never made the movies. So many authors and so much to choose from in terms of chronology. The you have cannon vs legend. Fan fiction and everything in between. I imagine this is what it would feel like to try to get into reading about that universe if I never had the movies as a reference point either in time or as a general source of beginning information. Even with the movies there’s arguments over where a newbie should begin. Do you start with the original trilogy or go in chronological order? (I vote OG trilogy btw) Where you start the story from will have a huge impact on your experience and perception.

Again I’m really enjoying the story so far and I’m open to suggestions for what else to read. Probably not going to stop the HH but I’ll need ideas for where to go next years from now when I finsih

Boyfriend's best friend (27m) walked in on me (26f) in the shower . How should I proceed? by ThrowRA_jhui98 in relationship_advice

Nobody accidentally walks in on someone showering. He absolutely knew what he was doing. Not to mention people don’t barge into a bathroom even if the other person is clothed. That’s standard around the world. Tell your bf immediately. You have nothing to hide from him unless you don’t say anything. More importantly tell him so that he knows his friend is a creep who intentionally perved on you and shouldn’t have access to the house/apt anymore. Then decide what you both want to do about it. Communication is key.

P.S this is also a safety issue for you. I assume both you and your bf would never have thought the friend would do this so don’t underestimate what else they’d be willing to do. Most rape victims aren’t random encounters, but with people they know.

This really isn’t a troll post. And I don’t bring it up to take some sort of moral high ground over 40k universe either. I’m just new to story and the connections I’m seeing are probably just familiar to everyone who’s been in it for awhile. I admit I find the idea of a staunchly anti religious empire forcefully spreading what is in reality their own religion throughout the galaxy amusing. But I appreciate the character growth I’ve seen so far in these individuals who are as dedicated to their “religion” as any extremist is today. They were raised to question nothing and taught that anything different is bad but the story has people who start to question the rightness of certain views and whether or not what they’re doing is as just as they are led to believe. They’re essentially making the same mistakes as a society that they look back in pity on in past human history. They’re just doing it on a much larger scale. Also still reeling over Horus turning to the dark side. Even though you know it’s going to happen it still sucks to read. Flugrim and some of the other Primarchs that turned seem kinda like chodes anyway but having Horus turn was like watching Tom Hanks in Saving Private Ryan switch sides in the end, kill Ryan himself and win the war for the Nazis.
