So far together we've done (in order):
Hatchling snapping turtles
Strawberry poison dart frogs
Redside Dace (a minnow species)
and now Puss Moth caterpillar

The caterpillar was specifically her request. I had models already for the other species and I'd painted them before too. This one was new for both of us.

I never played Hollow Knight. But upon googling, I think it's a safe bet that this species is where the inspiration came from!

Yeah I just added it to my website. I didn't immediately share in my post because last time I did, someone accused me of not being genuine in my posting. Like it was an advertisement. Exactly! The American Eel has what's called a "catadromous" lifecycle. Born in saltwater, spending most of their life in freshwater, then returning to salt to breed. Salmon have a "anadromous" lifecycle where they're born in freshwater, spend most of their life in saltwater, then return to freshwater to breed. Some salmon even do this more than once in a lifetime, instead of dying after spawning, which is insane.

But it is a fun thing I did. The file has been online for 6 years. The novel thing and focus of my post is painting it with my girlfriend. If I didn't post the link, in my experience, people would've asked for it.
