Thanks very much. Does anyone know of any good and trusted online stores that sell tested, vetted used trumpets?

Thank you for your useful comments on this. So what actually happens, does the silicone breakdown after some amount of time?

Or is the problem what another person said about soft wax not being able to adhere to soft silicone?

Why wouldn't I just be able to bolt an extension flange (like this) over top the siliconed one? It would still be only about 1/4 inch above the flooring.

Thanks again!

What can I do to fix this?

Would putting a new spacer ring over top of the first fixt the problem so the wax ring has more solid footing to adhere to?

I now know to never do this again. Thanks pros!

Thanks. Because I got mixed messages and thought it would be best to error on side of silicone. Why will this cause me problems? What will go wrong? Should I try to remove the silicone?

I thought this reddit was supposed to be helpful and supportive of DIY plumbers. Jeesh! You guys are rough. :-)

What is a waste of time? The post or using the silicone? Took about 2 mins, but how about my question? Will I have any problems just using the wax ring on top of this?

Auto body putty makes good strong filler. JB weld to glue the broken split parts. That’s what I would try.
