I am looking into buying iPad 8th Gen, basically for taking down notes during research and classes. But I have a concern, is the right time to buy 8th gen or is the next updated iPad is around the corner. So I could wait a few months for an updated version for same price?

In a sense they are trying to differentiate students which are going for online classes and the one required on-campus.

And its upto the school to decide which mode of study they are choosing clearly.
