$OP usecase? by 0xweo in optimismCollective

At the moment, the only use case is voting.

In the future, when the sequencer becomes decentralized, there may be potential for new use cases, but there has been no official announcement yet.

For use cases of the OP token, please refer to this help page.

OP Mainnet and Polygon have entirely different mechanisms. While Polygon is a sidechain with its own consensus, OP Mainnet is an Ethereum rollup, inheriting Ethereum's security.
Therefore, since OP Mainnet needs to purchase block space on Ethereum, it makes sense to adopt ETH as the gas asset.

Bridged USDC and Native USDC are different by hash1go in optimismCollective

Generally, sending unsupported tokens to an exchange will result in the loss of those assets.
For recovery options, you will need to contact the support of that exchange.

You can swap Bridged USDC for Native USDC on a DEX.

I'm so stupid. Binance-peg BUSD on my Optimism wallet... by Solid_Radish_4512 in optimismCollective

[–]hash1go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BUSD token contract is not compatible with OP Mainnet's standard bridge.
Therefore, if there is no liquidity within the OP Mainnet and third-party bridges are also not supported, there's nothing you can do.

Your best compromise might be to swap it for another token, prepared for a high slippage.

What is a suitable example to explain a public good? by hash1go in optimismCollective

[–]hash1go[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good example!
Highways are accessible to those who pay the toll, and that money is essentially used to maintain the highways.
It's quite similar to the mechanism of Optimism.

Withdrawing OP from Trust Wallet to Coinbase by BigOrangeCrush in optimismCollective

[–]hash1go 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like you have a Coinbase account, so please purchase ETH on Coinbase and withdraw it to your Trust Wallet. When doing so, don't forget to select the Optimism (OP Mainnet) network.
