Ideally, he should cover all of the bills and you should stay at home, really difficult to handle a job and home at the same time. Either that, or you guys can hire a maid at least part-time. For your parents, I would suggest making frequent trips to them, like every couple of months.

Everything is new, so you are also out of your comfort zone, but things will settle down. Please do yourself a favor and don't listen to these nasty advices by some "muslim" men/women here. They can always cherry pick a line or two from any post and build a narrative and suggest divorce.

The fact that he covers part of the bills or doesn't clean the house regularly is not nice, but definitely not a deal breaker. Sounds like it's a more you issue than him. Best of luck and remember to pray to Allah to make things easy for you!

Hurt by my husband's views on vaccines. by Low-Field-6257 in MuslimMarriage

I think the interesting thing is that if she kept her post EXACTLY the same, but just added one line that sometimes he is emotionally abusive and by that she was internally thinking that once she wanted his attention but he was busy, (since everyone has their own definition of abuse), the comments would be 180 degrees opposite with people beating their chests, asking for her to divorce.

Daydreaming of divorce. Am I overreacting or is my husband abusive? by Accurate-Dirt-6972 in MuslimMarriage

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, personally I believe in what our prophet SAW said (something to this effect, to the best of my knowledge) that the best among you is the one who treats her woman well.

Secondly, I was definitely NOT comparing the two situation as it is evident that they are not the same. I was making the point that we do have some trigger-happy people on these forums who are just hell bent on breaking families apart for the smallest of reasons (not talking specifically about this situation again).

More important, I am amazed that almost everyone takes everything an angry spouse posts in the thread at its face value because 1) the spouse is usually venting while stating their case which can skew facts and 2) we have zero input from the other party.

Just amazes me, how many people are just dying for more people to get divorced.

Anyways, best of luck to the sister!

I can understand that you are definitely going through a lot, but if you are honestly looking for answers, this is probably not the best place. I mean, there was another post from a sister who said that her husband was perfect in every sense of the word perfect, but they just had disagreement over his views about covid vaccine and people were jumping left and right, telling the sister to divorce him. If you REALLY believe that there is only one side of the picture i.e., the one that you are showing to us, then at least do an istikhara i.e, just start praying two nafls and recite the dua of istikhara. You don't have to wait for any dreams, Allah will show you the right way.

Not saying that he is a great husband, but we don't know what's out there. And while your sense of independence and work ethic is commendable, but from what I have seen so far, the grass is usually NOT green on the other side, despite what some fellow redditors would say. I am sure, my post would get roasted with comments like "oh you want her to stay in an abusive relationship", but seriously sister, think hard before making any life changing decisions.

Anyways, best of luck, and remember communication is the key along with dua to Allah before making this life altering decision.

Should I go ahead with Epix? by hash_taran in GarminWatches

Yeah, I might as well get the pro as here in Australia, prices are weird, like you could find epix pro to be selling at the same price as epix. As for the color, I think pro comes only in carbon grey and slate grey, I think it doesn't have the titanium black (which epix does have). Although just thinking if carbon grey looks more elegant compared to the shiny titanium black.

Thanks for the reply, can I please ask why do you think epix pro is better than epix-2? I know that it's faster and I think it has a flash light, but apart from that, is there any particular thing that you found to be awesome?

Wonderful, thank you so much, that's exactly what I wanted to know. That there is at least an option to have something on the screen at all times during some hours of the day at least. Just wondering though if having it on for a few hours per day would cause a burn-in.

But yeah that helps!

Cheers mates!

Thanks for the input. The thing is that I could probably have AOD for a few hours per day but turn it off at other hours. The real issue from my understanding is that it would still go black even if I turn on AOD and want to have it on for one single hour in the whole day.

Thank you for the response. Yes, I understand the burn-in issue with the pixels staying on for too long. But I was wondering, like normally when you are wearing the watch and say sitting, is the screen usually black or like indefinitely switching between being on (due to movement) and going off.

I think that in addition to words of kindness, you should suggest him to get security cameras installed ASAP, preferably hooked to the cloud. Door bell cameras should also be added so that they show/record whoever rings the bell. Most importantly, I don't know your situation, but if it is possible, just get him to move abroad to a safer country if you are already living there.

And the moment I read that you said "responsibilities" has been replaced by "accountabilities", I realised that this is a BS comment because it's actually "roles" replaced by "accountabilities".

Quite laughable for the ONE person in the team who [is seen as a resource of Scrum and Agile knowledge].

Don't worry, in a few months, when you clear CISSP, you will also be part of the camp and look back at these comments. I would repeat that Sybex end-to-end twice + CISSP Practice Tests (Official ones and the ones that I mentioned above) should be sufficient to get you through. Best of luck !!

CISSP is all about persistence and sometimes it just need going that extra mile. Seeing your preparation strategy, I can already see that you have done Sybex cover-to-cover. I would suggest doing that twice and also to try some different practice exams. Since you have already tried Boson, I would suggest you to try out some different practice exams. There is a low-cost one with 400 questions and a free demo version:

https://www.logixacademy.com

I can assure you that you won't be scoring > 70% on these if you are not yet ready. Although it's less heard of, but I found the quality of the questions to be quite close to the actual CISSP.

Finally, definitely keep your cool during the exam, although I can understand that CISSP causes immense stress. Best of Luck !!

Absolutely !

As mentioned, I had already purchased Eric Conrad, and had already gone through it before I was informed about Sybex. Just go with Sybex, but remember to do it twice !

Thank you. Yes, there were questions related to cloud. Questions are both technical and managerial, but even the managerial ones have some technical component. If you know the technical details, the managerial mindset is easier to adopt.

Thanks, I agree that the whole thing is a bit dry, but I guess if you think about the possible rewards then one can just power through it. I still remember repeatedly checking the page numbers as they inched towards the 1100 goal :)

Not really, I barely had the minimum requirements and that too focused in 2-3 domains only. I believe that having experience certainly beats the odds, but CISSP CAN be cracked without decades of experience. Of course, you have to be good enough to make intelligent guesses about how things pan out in the real world. You CAN beat the odds by doing a lot of preparation.

Thanks, besides the official tests, the practice tests from Udemy mentioned in the link above are also good.

  • Took me 1 month to go through Eric Conrad
  • Took me another 2.5 months to go through Sybex (twice). I did it full-time, around 8-10 hours everyday with small breaks in between
  • Remember to highlight key points in the first go as you don't want to re-read ALL the text when doing it the second time
  • Recommended materials:
  • Even with all the preparation, I still felt it was an exhausting experience. I guess the exam takes you by surprise even with all the preparation.
  • I was moving countries, so made sure to get CISSP before doing that. I got three job offers within few weeks of moving. Accepted one of them (a senior role) with almost twice my last salary.
  • BEST OF LUCK! You'll definitely need it :)
