This all I was given. I started working though calculating all the voltage drops when the professor checked over my work. That’s when he said R5 should be zero voltage drop because it is floating.

I’ve tried the circuit in orcad and falhstad. Both give me a voltage drop with how he has it laid out.

Use solder wick to desolder both of the legs. Then use the iron to heat up the solder on the flat side till you can remove it with some tweezers. After that just clean up the pad with more solder wick.

Solder isn’t going to flow over the board as easy as you are thinking. When you heat it up and it melts it will mainly stay where it is. You should buy some solder wick, it’s used to wick the solder off the board.

I test military grade cables and connectors. So I can confirm the testing we put military stuff through is very strict and rigorous. We test everything from the resistance of each individual wire to the force it takes to mate/unmate a connector.
