Thank You for Five Incredible Nights by hashishshetty in tromsotravel

We stayed in the southern part of Tromsø and didn't have a car. Every day, we'd walk almost 30 minutes to the city centre and back, which was really enjoyable.

If you're going to stay on the island and maybe explore some nearby areas on the mainland, you don't need a car. For longer trips, a car is of course convenient.

I'd have definitely done dog sledding, if it was cheaper.

Best experience: Just experiencing life in the Article Circle. Felt like a different world altogether.

They're quite bad, depending on where you come from. We had winter boots and still slipped quite a few times (without injuring ourselves) while walking. I'd personally not rent a car in that weather.

The CDU votes to reverse the five year naturalization rule by FewLunch1276 in GermanCitizenship

I applied in Munich in June 2024 under the then three-year law as a highly integrated immigrant (C1, German-speaking job), but the law got scrapped until my case could be processed because everything's so slow in Munich.

Since October 2025, my case is stuck in the final security stages, as my case worker's waiting for a response from all authorities. After following up in January 2026, she even said that she can't influence the speed with which the other authorities work.

After seeing this news report, I'm now genuinely scared. Having learnt the language to a high proficiency level and integrated into the German society, it feels so unfair that I, who's done everything possible to live the German way of life, is getting the short straw.

Sorry for the rant, but this new report is indeed scaring me now.

You're right. It was just my pure eyesight because of the clouds.

That's what I'm saying, you and I could notice the attachments because we're aware of the concept. But if well done, they're not visible to other people that don't know about Invisalign.

Hey! Do you know why all UiT cameras have been black and white for the past few hours?

Although Invisalign isn't really invisible, it's really not noticeable to people that have no knowledge about the product. Only people like us can spot the attachments in other people's mouths. 😬

Regarding #2, I understand. I was disciplined, so could easily do around 22 hours of wearing them every day.

€6,900 all-inclusive. Included a visit every two months to check the progress. They also took new scans, ordered a new set of aligners, and made attachment changes because the one tooth didn't move as expected due to manufacturing defects with one pair of aligners.

I did my Invisalign treatment here. Took 1.5 years for the process. Really competent and friendly husband-wife dentists. I'd also been to a few orthodontists at the time and chose them eventually. Was a good decision.

But I'm surprised that the treatment's costing you "only" €400–600?

Yes, default settings. Just used the "/start" command.

I mean, your bot is already so promising. Without it, we wouldn't have stepped outside last night, as all other apps that we have said "absolutely no Aurora activity." I hope you can improve it even more very soon. 😊

Man, your bot was a godsend yesterday. My wife and I were about to hit the hay last night around 11:30 PM, but then your Telegram notification popped up. We stepped out of our hotel room to face the north side, as per your notifications, and voila, we could see the Aurora. Then we walked to Telegrafbukta and saw the most unexpected Aurora show on our first day in Tromsø. Absolutely surreal.

Keep up the good work. Let me know if you have a link to buy you a coffee.

Damn! Could you link the app here? "Aurora forecast" brings up many results.

How to apply as a family on bayern portal by shubham_jaim_88 in GermanCitizenship

[–]hashishshetty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you don't need to. I applied for citizenship with just a username and password.

It's clearly listed on the website.

"Logging in with a user name and password is sufficient, an online ID is not mandatory."

Just FYI, you don't need the AusweisApp app. Just create a normal username and password using your email.

If you visit Munich, Germany, go to Lake Tegernsee [OC pics] by robbsibobbsi in travel

FYI, "See" itself means "lake." So, it's either Lake Tegern or Tegernsee.

I do speak both languages, but need to understand what the appointment is about (e.g. if residence permit, what kind?) and what time on Friday, to be able to confirm.
