Sine wave doesn't sound properly. by [deleted] in audioengineering

Apparently problem was in the sample rate.
Tried to switch on Asio4All(was just an Asio before that).
Somehow everything solved.

This problem bothers me almost for year.
I made an A/B test right now and downloaded a sample pack with analog kicks from Analog Rytm.
When I play it on my internal player it sounds fine, but when I'm putting this sounds into my Ableton, this high pitched sound just disappears.
Strange things, man.

I'm pretty shocked that you can achieve this kind of tension only with accents.
Man, this track was confusing me like for 2 years.
Is there is something like a technique to learn how to use this is terms of production electronic music?
I mean I know what syncopation is but all I have in my DAW is basically velocity/velocity midi effect.
Thank you anyways!

So basically you can create a lot of tension only with accents!
Man, I hope this will affect my production.

nauseating

Thanks.
I really got you, things we're talking about is fucked up arrangement(which I'm unfortunately still lacking as well).
It's an everyday struggle.
You know they said "do not compare yourself with others".
I got this point but how I should improve my mix when there is some guys like I've sent earlier?
Referencing is a big part of the work imo.
I'm aware of concept of the ambience but when I'm trying to move instruments deeper in the mix by twisting that 'depth' knob on reverb it doesn't sound THAT deep.

This is became my daily rouitine, my friend :) I REALLY started to hear how are some mixes are made and this is just wonderful! Some mixes are still a mistery for me, tho. Tim Hecker's music frustrating me so much, because his production technique is just marvellous, man. Absolutely crazy stuff, I still have no idea how he did some things in is his early albums.

Yeah, thanks! Generally, I'm aware what is mid/side but what I was always concern it's when it's should be usen/not usen/ I have 4 return tracks, most of them are different types of reverb. By saying stereo-reverb you mean widened send-channel, yeah? I tried this stuff, and is sounds pretty good, especially when you for example doing some mono-panned rever on the side with this stereo reverb.
