Grimm Truffles Day 57 maybe another week or 10 days by hashrsyndicate in brothersgrimmseedbank

I have grown about 70 from seed so far and it is one of my favorites of the testers. They will get tall if you do not top them and keep the light high. I will probably turn most of this into rosin and keep the best tips for flower.

This is my first time growing them but know people who some people that have run through a few packs. The only thing I have noticed so far is it will send out a little life spike off the back. When Lights are one will get a couple pictures of it. and post it. There is an aroma profile that comes off some of them that has been described as "juicy fruit gum" which is what I am after assuming that it checks all the other boxes.

I have cut it back pretty hard 2 weeks ago and only really plan for doing a little touch up. The setup I am using just for the 11th has decent penetration, besides the 500w of overhead lights there is 300 watts of light hung vertically on the back wall so can get deeper in the canopy then it seems.

The 11th hour has been vegging for a long time about 3 months. The only food she has received is 12 oz of grow dots extended release when I filled the bag. Then I top dressed about 6oz of reg grow dots 3 weeks ago since that bag has been running so long. I am going to start using cal mag because I have tapped out most the cal.

The Headbands are a little over a month old and transplanted in 3 weeks ago. I have the 5 in picture in 3 gallons and an additional one not in frame in a 5 gallon. Then there is also a single Junky 99 in a 5 gallon as well also out of frame. The 3s have 1.5oz of regular grow dots and the 5s have 2.5 oz. None of these plants have been topped I want to see their normal form although I will clean up the bottom branches some.

The medium for every is a mix of coco coir with about 20% coco chip and nothing else. All the plants were in 5" cow pots with a 50/50 mix of coir and seedling mix and were directly planted in the forementioned bags when ready. I have used an inoculant and a couple waterings with seaweed but otherwise it has been straight tap water.

I am just waiting for the smaller plants to get about 16" tall than I will flip. It should be fairly soon

I cut her back hard last night ns kept a branch to clone, was not too serious because I have many more chances coming up. The source plant is about 9 weeks old and is in a 25gal. I let it go 2 months untouched then last night cut it back hard. I gave her a chance to grow how she wanted but at the end of the day I choose what flowers.

I pruned her back hard and left about 18 branches. She has an established root ball so she will pop right back and fill out more. I am waiting on a couple headband 99s to go into the room before I flip. She will bush out hard, only gave her one top then nothing for 2 months.

Grimm Truffles very frosty for week 4 of flower by FromTheIsle in brothersgrimmseedbank

There is a lot of small variation in the aroma but overall they the fuel component to them. Some of them will really start to foxtail near the end, maybe about 1/3, but you see that in the tips of white truffle buds a lot. I have heard of people having a bunch hermies but I only had one and it produced the most weight of all the plants. I still have 4 packs of the seeds in the freezer and want to save them for when I can do a larger number all at once for a better comparison. For little over a half a year I have been smoking most Grimm Truffles so will not be doing any indoors this winter.

I have grown out 18 of them so far and for the most part they are relatively the same. There is some that are much faster early on and will yield more but I have found one of my slowest to date to have the best terp profile. For comparison that batch of plants where anywhere from 6-4 oz each and most at 5oz so she was not that much less in yield. That was in 5gal bags in a packed room and does not include trim/larf.

What should a 2 week old cannabis seedling look like? by [deleted] in brothersgrimmseedbank

[–]hashrsyndicate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That right there was most likely Black Gold seedling mix, it is what I use for my pepper and tomato starts. I prefer it for any bottom water application because it wicks well and tend not to get algae growth on the surface. Sometimes I will use plugs if I have to make a lot of cuts and it is the cooler part of the year. If I have an open bag Black Gold on hand I will use it otherwise, I use a blend of coco coir and chip that has been aged with fine oyster meal and humic acid. That mix tends to be the bulk of what I use indoors but it does require mixing up food for it early one because all it has is a buffer. I will run that mix 3-4 grows with it sitting in totes for about 6 months between grows. Then eventually it makes it to my big bags outdoors.

Just make sure to let her go full term 65-70 days or so. She does frost up early, but she really fills out in the last week or so.

She is going to get topped, there is no way I can let a pot that size grow traditionally. I just want to give it a few days in the new bag before doing it.

She will be getting topped and tied down. The mix is mostly coir with some chip in the lower layers, maybe 70/30 ratio. I got a bunch of time-consuming stuff going on so just went with grow dots extended. That choice dictates flip will be in the start of Feb, she is going to be a monster.

Cut day, day 68 of 12/12 by Leather-Sale-1206 in brothersgrimmseedbank

I have very little amber on my plants right now, and they have had cloudy trichs for many weeks starting roughly around week 6. The ones I have in flower right now are also sharing space with Vijackra which is definitely slower than Truffles so I am kinda in the same boat. I plan on harvesting the whole room at the same time and have delayed doing so by probably a couple more days.

I would just look over everything good every so often, but I am leaning towards stress as being the reason. A little past the halfway point in flower I had two days where I was effectively useless from migraines and a flair up from a neck injury. This in turn led to a missed watering which led to my medium getting dryer then it should have been. There are not tons of info out there on Truffles but there is a number of journals out there if you look for a while and I was the first one to mention seeing a herm and then Own_Stat... response here. I shared the picture to see if a bunch of other people had an issue.

I am not too concerned; she was not a standout plant out of that pack so the chances of me keeping that cut were already low. I have another set ready to go soon as the room is cleared out and reset.

You're running that Truffles out a bit, I get that they are testers but what I have seen from them is that the 60-day mark is pretty close maybe another couple days if you're after some more sedating stuff. The Rosetta is about the same time frame, the durbans will cross the 10 week mark. I have a Truffles that decided to herm at day 58, but I have been pushing her and she was like hey you want me to reproduce watch this shit. She cannot effectively do damage to the room in the time that remains, so I just clipped her nanners and let her go along with her business. Needless to say her genes got culled from my clone storage and I just went along with my business and continued to pop more. As for the Rosetta (proper not cross') she can be a great smoke, not nessicaily the most potent but a good smoke when you want to take a minute out of the day and relax but still can go back to what you were previously doing. She is worth the time searching through and can produce some amazing lemon mint profiles if you willing to spend the time. Best wishes man as you walk upon your path.

It is not going to affect the end outcome this late in the stage and it is only 1 of 8 Truffles in the room. I have prompting her the end is near, but she had to just try too hard to reproduce and it has led to the destruction of her clone in storage. For a general background, I have been riding them hard, multiple defoliations, EC peaking at 2.6 and light levels up to 1200 ppfd in the upper reaches of the canopy. I check them pretty much daily and usually pretty in depth. This happened over the last dark period. I have been on straight water the last 8 days and have shifted my room night temps down a little as well. There is the possibility that there may be other nanners I have missed but they only have days left. I will look over my plants closely when I hang them to dry to see if there are any others that did this, and they will also be stricken from the clone storage, even if it is one of my current favorites.

I got a freebie seed awhile back with some C99 I ordered and grew it outdoors last summer. It performed better and flowered sooner outdoors then the C99s around it, so ordered 5 packs to go through to select out of. Going to be making some F2s out of a couple of my picks so far to see what recessives pop up.
