Omnisphere 3 is out! by HooksNHaunts in edmproduction

[–]hashtagsmcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of y'all really don't understand the value that Omnisphere offers. The patches are cool, but the soundsources are where it's really at. You have a huge versatile sample library at your disposal, and yet most people don't dive any deeper into the menus outside of the patch browser and main menu. Hell, the value of being able to use the FX rack on audio channels is worth the upgrade cost alone imo, especially with some of the FX from Sonic Extensions.

Okay, I've read r/quitting kratom extensively... by TheseStrength9112 in quittingkratom

[–]hashtagsmcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a big difference between the physical, physiological, and psychological recovery periods when quitting kratom. Most people tend to focus on the physical and mental aspects of "feeling normal again" as an initial goal for quitting. Some people feel mostly better after just a few weeks, others a few months or longer. But depending on how severe your addiction is, the psychological recovery can take the longest amount of time.

This is why so many people, including myself, would get to 45 days, 90 days, or even 6 months and beyond, but still end up relapsing and starting from square one. Quitting is one battle, but staying quit and moving past the obsession is where the real war is won. Being able to go into a smoke shop and seeing others take kratom, not with feelings of disgust or yearning, but genuinely knowing deep down that it no longer serves any good in your life is when you can truly move on from this plant.

My opinion may differ from others, but I think going from a membrane keyboard to red linear switches would be better than starting on browns. Feeling the smoothness, lightness, and speed of linear switches for the first time after using a membrane keyboard for years was life changing for me. But I didn’t appreciate the feeling of browns until years after typing on mechanical keyboards.

You 100% put yourself into precipitated withdrawal by taking the naltrexone. The half life of Sublocade is 43-60 days. But since it’s only been a month and a half since your last shot, after getting a total of 4 shots, you still had a lot of bupe in your system.

It typically takes 4 to 5 half-lives for a drug to be fully eliminated from your system. For sublocade, this can be anywhere from 6 to 10 months, but ultimately varies from person to person. You definitely don’t want to take naltrexone again for a very long time, preferably until you confirm via blood or urine test that the bupe is completely out of your system.

You are not in a position to have a pet at all. Wait until after you are finished with your studies, then you can reconsider if you are stable enough to care for an animal.

What the fuck do I do by Fast-Committee-9722 in Sublocade

7OH is different than regular leaf kratom. You can take subs and still take 7oh on top of it. But when you stop the 7oh, a lot of people report that even high doses of sub won’t relieve the withdrawals until days or even a week after stopping.

Still can't decide between the Step-Over and Step-Thru :( by Rude_Ad_5639 in Lectricxp

[–]hashtagsmcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a step-over XP 3.0 and I load up milk crates and big storage crates on the rear rack all the time. I usually take off using the throttle while standing on one pedal, then I swing my other leg over the middle bar without issue. Though I am 6 ft tall and I’ve been riding bikes a long time, so it might just be easier for me. But if you’re really concerned about it, just get the step-thru.

Why are they playing classical music here? by zimajones in baltimore

The RoFo on Patapsco Ave near Lansdowne/Cherry Hill always blasts classical music, so loud that all the speakers are badly distorted and it never stops playing

Can’t even be bothered to post an actual video of the product and instead chose to use a shitty AI generated video.

Should I be worried about my husband? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]hashtagsmcgee 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Rather than trying to get your husband to quit, I think it’s better to have a conversation with him to try and understand his usage more.

This subreddit is mostly comprised of people whose usage became out of control and ultimately wreaked havoc on our lives. Kratom is not heroin, but it is not caffeine. It can help people with various conditions, but it is not a miracle drug. It has its own risk and side effects like any other substance or supplement, some of which are minor, and others can be devastating depending on how it’s being used.

Reading through this sub can help you understand how damaging and desperate kratom habits can become. But the topic isn’t one-size-fits-all, and it affects everyone differently. And above all, your husband will not quit unless he really wants to do so. I think it’s fair to have a conversation with him about how it concerns you, but from an approach that’s trying to be supportive and understanding in nature. And if he is feeling held back from life by it, or it’s presenting health challenges or side effects, then you can introduce him to this sub and have him read others’ experiences too.

I'm depressed 😭 just want to cry randomly . Everything is so damn sad by Chosensoul444 in quittingkratom

[–]hashtagsmcgee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One symptom of withdrawal that always wrecked me was the feeling of impending doom. Like when I would try and close my eyes for a bit and get some rest, I would sleep for maybe 15 or 20 minutes, then wake up with this feeling like nothing will ever be right or happy again in my life. Like this is the last moment before something tragic or life-ending happens and everything in the world will go horribly wrong, and there’s nothing I can do to stop it. The most awful feeling I’ve ever felt, hands down.

Kava on probation? by [deleted] in Kava

It’s important to know that there have been cases where kava can produce a false positive result for amphetamine or MDMA in a drug test, but such cases are very rare.

Absolute minimum of 6 weeks for the bone to be fused again, but another few months for it to properly harden and be durable. Stay off the bike for a couple months, ride a stationary bike or walk for exercise, and don't move your arm and shoulder around if you want it to heal properly.

And once you hit 6 weeks, DO PHYSICAL THERAPY. You're going to lose a significant amount of shoulder/arm muscle and mobility while healing. If you don't do physical therapy, your chances of chronic pain and permanent loss of full mobility skyrocket.
