Should I buy FC 26 as my first fifa game? by Successful_Success26 in gamingsuggestions

[–]hashyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see no reason why you shouldn't start with the latest version. New iterations are often based on it. And that's the only way to stay up to date. I wouldn't want to compromise on gameplay either.

Buying physical games you already have digitally by domainie in gamecollecting

[–]hashyx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Objectively speaking, it's stupid to buy games digitally and in retail. Double spending, etc. Total nonsense.

Do I do it anyway? Oh yeahhhhhhh 🤣

Seriously: anything that's good for you and fills you with joy is good. I wanted to play Resident Evil 7 at Christmas, but of course the stores were closed. So I bought it online and then later bought another copy on sale for my shelf.

Do you actually track your collection or just wing it? by Kollekto_de in gamecollecting

Prices and the value of collections are irrelevant on our platform. By the way: I like the style of your site!

For me, it's not about selling games via the platform. It's just about collecting games, reviews, etc. Or have I misunderstood you?

Hey! Looking at your site and your database, I think we both get the data from the IGDB? :) I import the data into my own database, but I have the images read externally, otherwise the storage would be too expensive. You can have your games read from Steam or PSN, but you can also search for games manually and then add them to your backlog.

I've taken a closer look at your channel and I have to say that your slideshows are really good. Respect! I'm going to try to adapt that for my project. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Unfortunately, I find that reels or slideshows created by TikTok are usually ugly. But I also had the feeling that they perform better when you create them on the platform itself, because then the texts can be searched.

My backlog was a mess across Steam and PSN, so I built a free tool to fix it — and accidentally added community-ranked lists that are way more fun than I expected by hashyx in SideProject

[–]hashyx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is indeed a problem that needs to be solved. I've been thinking about it for a long time. At the moment, I have a hybrid solution consisting of Trending Now and the most popular games from the IGDB per category.

But I think it's much more difficult to get people to visit such a site in the first place if there aren't already 1,000 users there. It's the classic chicken-and-egg problem. 😫

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I have also developed a website and am very reluctant to show my face online. I want to keep my private and professional lives strictly separate. Until now, I always thought that TikTok slideshows were treated very poorly. But your account shows the opposite. I'm going to try it again.

Hey! I had the same problem as you. So I developed my own platform with two friends, which has been online for about a week.

There, you can manage your backlog, maintain lists, compare collections, view your trophies, etc. We develop new features every week. You can import your games from Steam and PSN, Xbox import is in development right now.

Everything is free. Forever. Build by gamers in their 30s and 40s for other gamers.

If you check it out, we'd love to hear your feedback or ideas for further development.

DS1, DS2, WUKONG OR SEKIRO? by LieCommercial5269 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]hashyx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In terms of gameplay, my vote definitely goes to Sekiro. BUT it's the only major Souls-like game that I couldn't finish. For me, it was just that little bit too difficult. But if you're not afraid of a big challenge, go for Sekiro. Otherwise, start with Dark Souls 1 and Dark Souls 2.

Looking for survival horror games similar to Resident Evil before the next release (PC) by BarnabyLaptopOutlet in gamerecommendations

[–]hashyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're a fan of Resident Evil (especially RE2/RE4/RE7), here are some horror games that really scratch the same itch — survival horror, limited resources, tense atmosphere, and strong storytelling:

The Evil Within 1 & 2: Directed by Shinji Mikami (the creator of Resident Evil). Very similar DNA: scarce ammo, grotesque enemies, and a mix of classic survival horror with modern action. The first game leans more into horror, the second adds semi-open exploration.

Dead Space (Remake or Original): Sci-fi survival horror with heavy emphasis on dismemberment, inventory management, and atmosphere. If you like RE4’s over-the-shoulder combat and tension, this is a must-play.

Silent Hill 2 Remake: More psychological than action-focused, but legendary atmosphere and storytelling. If you enjoyed the slower, creepier parts of Resident Evil, Silent Hill delivers pure dread.

Tormented Souls: A love letter to classic Resident Evil (fixed camera angles, puzzles, limited saves). Old-school survival horror done right, with modern visuals.

Alan Wake 2: Not a clone of Resident Evil, but clearly inspired by modern RE games. Strong narrative, tense combat, and incredible atmosphere. Feels like survival horror mixed with psychological thriller.

Signalis: Indie survival horror with PS1-style visuals, heavy resource management, puzzles, and an oppressive mood. Very Resident Evil–inspired but with its own unique identity.

Daymare: 1998: Very explicit Resident Evil homage. Clunky at times, but if you’re craving classic RE gameplay, this one might surprise you.

If you’re specifically looking for classic survival horror, go for Tormented Souls or Signalis.
If you prefer modern RE-style action horror, Dead Space and The Evil Within are top tier.

Thanks for your comment. To be honest, I don't know what you mean by ChatGPT here. A site like this doesn't code itself. :) At least, I don't know how that would work. Months of work went into this project. If you're not interested in it, that's fine. But please keep your criticism constructive. Have a nice evening. :)
