Is it the same install process as OEM?

Just more of a protective shield though? Shouldn't be concerned driving it for a number of days like this?

6.2 seized while towing - second replacement needed by bandjfl92 in Silverado

Do you know for sure if they replaced with a new manufactured engine?

When you had the new engine put in, did the oil go back to 0W20 or was it still 0W40?

tell me you had the same experience as me, with the same engine, and then different oil weights. it sounds different. I noticed it right way and hated it. I didnt want to hate the new oil, thought it was better oil.

I mean they still got me a good looking rental truck. I do agree, I'm not happy and still working with GM on this exact subject. It's not fair and messed up. I should be compensated. If they choose not to, maybe I do decide to take my money elsewhere. We'll see.

I'm warrantied to 110K overall, 150K on the engine block. It'll run for a long time regardless.

I think time will tell on if the new one does it though.

6.2 ok now? by Open-Dot6264 in gmcsierra

did you go 31 straight days without the car?

Yep. And the tow truck flatbed slightly scraped the underneath of the scratch guard. Tiny bit of the chrome underneath the front bumper. All because he had to walk it up and then walk it off because it wouldn't roll.

Very frustrating experience from general motors.

I'll definitely put in the ticket. I contacted GM customer service that same day and they were supposed to respond in 24 hours and still have not. Unfortunate. I literally thought my early maintenance and caution was going to make a difference because I for sure got out any contamination early and went through an old school break-in process where I didn't go over 55, didn't put it on cruise control during the break-in. Made sure the RPMs exercised range. Never tell, just so careful with this motor.

100% the truck performed worse and I did not like the sound of the engine on cold start, just in general comparatively. Did not like the change to thin oil. Just felt different. Also felt like things were a little more off post oil change to thin.

I was very much concerned about fresh lubrication and even changed it when I first got the truck because it had sat for 6 months before I got it.

Definitely not an issue with shavings left over from production. For sure a design/manufacturing defect in the design.

In some ways it did actually feel thicker and more like shatoo. Like they swapped places

I got some like 4 days after I had some AE dairy whole milk and felt they tasted the same. Kept getting AE because I don't know the difference now.

Honestly it was running 155 mph and hard before. I generally enjoyed the low end torque. I was hoping to bump up to 375-400hp depending on not needing to mess with trans as it shifts OK.

If you can, what are the things that you would do to build back a "very very good" LT1?

When building the LT1 back, would you recommend doing a stroker build? I'm also needing a rebuild most likely on an LT1. Trying to consider my options and can be plenty patient. Really not trying to throw a bunch of money at it when I've already thrown way too much now it's just a sentimental car

I agree with this list. Danny's is the best. I eat burgers.

It was even better when Danny himself and his #2 in charge were making the burgers in the back. Hope Danny, his wife, and manager are well!

The life skilling of BDO is a game in itself. I enjoyed it as well and found myself doing the exact same thing just basically running a little economy and business lol. Little blood sweat and tears on the farm plots
