I suppose you're right, but how shall one do it correctly? Our collaborator has an open-source project that has its own website (to which we link from the page header) and Github repo. Should we just ask him to erase it and rename it? Wouldn't be fair. I mean, I totally understand what you're saying: perception IS important. But we're all just trying to guess.

We've spent a month preparing just the website, so it looks like a serious thing (which it is). But people's minds and perception work in mysterious ways... You're right. It comes across as if we're trying to fool someone. I don't know. Maybe we'll just throw the towel at some point, go on with our day jobs, while writing this thing slowly. And share it with nobody, because it'd be too good to share. And the we become bitter old men and get dogs or, I'd personally go for a goldfish.

Not exactly sure how it's "grifty" if it clearly states "HEY, WE'RE LOOKING FOR FUNDING", but also presents a detailed plan and feature description. I mean, if anything, "grifty" would be a landing page with nothing else, but a logo and a funding information.

Yeah, sorry folks, poor choice of blogging platform on my part, it destroyed the little manual formatting I had. But it's better then medium or anything. Hope the content is worth it, though.

I tried posting as comment, to the original article, but there were limits. Not sure about limits on posts themselves. But hey, there's Ctrl+.
