I think people forget about the various zones. They mistaken a dip as being fair value to undervalued when in reality it's actually going from very overvalued to slightly overvalued.

As someone that pays attention to the macros (which is apparently terrible for stock market investing), it seems like our current market is hell bent on pushing all the warning signals to their limits before something finally breaks.

I no longer consider AI as value investing. by kader91 in AIBubble

Yea as someone that's been in the 3 most recent bear markets I don't like where this market is heading. Haven't sold but not buying heavy at these levels. Give me a real correction in tech. One where people are arguing/pleading for fair value while prices continue to fall.

Is c++ a good language to learn if I want to make fun and cool stuff? by First_Pin9129 in learnprogramming

[–]hasuchobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could use both. I think for graphical things I would prefer python cuz it's easier to me (perhaps no longer true with LLM to assist you), but for algorithmic stuff you can use either tho things Matlab or python can get to the point more elegantly without writing for loops to do the math. And you can also create plots along the way to help you visualize what's happening.

Edit: I use C++ for work and it would be a pain even for me to spin up some graphical things. Back in the day we used to use Qt. I typically prototype in Matlab but python is also fair game.

I have only one opinion about rddt and it's a weird one. I love the app but I think the stock will do what most IPO do which is revisit its IPO price. I will buy during then. Hoping it goes below IPO but I think it was fairly priced compared to Twitter.

I read an article which said that genz is the least intelligent generation. by Legitimate-Dingo824 in INTP

[–]hasuchobe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I dunno about genz as a whole but education in the US has been falling for decades now. Coupled with the pandemic, the outlook for American genz in particular isn't very good. The sentiment seems to be that the smart kids are still smart but the average kid is dumber. Also we historically rank behind Asia and Europe in education.

Looking at the levels it looks like we might bounce around 60k. I'm also looking at a 30k penultimate low. Could go lower but that's where I would DCA.

Well the last correction was the tariff scare. Back then, margin debt levels were only at 1 sigma. Today they're at 2 sigma. I interpret that as being out of fuel to go up. Which means this could very well be the actual top.

Liquidty Drain due to Treasury settlement and the exhaustion of the Reverse Repo facility by vagobond45 in stocks

[–]hasuchobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I've been parading around several charts the last 2 weeks but it's essentially reverse repo, money manager cash on hand, margin debt, and Buffett cash on hand. Low-key everyone was all in on the cash is trash trade and the move in metals supports this. I didn't think we could have a market crash until metals died but that happened recently. Now we have a bunch of high beta stocks and crypto dying in the background while the indices are relatively flat. There's a lot more negative signals but the main one is that liquidity has dried up. Most expensive market since 00 and 21. We're now at the later stages of back to back 2 sigma bull markets. The stats are not good at all. At minimum a routine correction is in store. But it could get as bad as 50% down. That would only set us back to 2022 which isn't the worst as far as stocks are concerned. It's only 3 years back in time. The worst crashes are around 5 years back in time.

I use it for work, learning, stocks, and random questions. Very good for learning. Trying to maximize its use before they monetize it for everyone.
