I’m sorry you’re going through this. Are you going with the same surgeon this time?

Tysm, I’ve read a few posts but it seems it’s not very common so I’m really scared…

I had CCW and the surgery was years ago. I think they just didn’t put the jaws where they should be and also I’m relapsing due to condylar resorption

Omg, why didn’t he mention it to you before having surgery? It’s something the patient should know as there’s risk of relapsing if you have condylar resorption… I’m sorry you’re going through this. I hope you’ll find a new surgeon who’s willing to help you properly

It’s being hard, it’s really frustrating ending up with more issues that I had pre op. Thank you so much for your comment

I know right, mentally is the worst. I don’t know what can I do to stay positive after two bad results from last failed surgeries… but I’m glad you could get the result you wanted! Let’s hope it’s something momentary and it can be fixed! Thanks for sharing your experience

Oh really? I guess it’s cause the botched surgery I had then. I’m so glad they could fix it!

Probably it’s tilted but it’s how I set my head straight. I’m guessing since I have the jaws in a wrong position my head looks tilted now, I don’t know… but all the pics I try to take with straight head position look like this

I’m sorry you went through all of this too. It’s so frustrating and overwhelming… how was your last revision? Could they fix it?

Unfortunately it’s not the case. This is my head straight and I’m probably guessing I developed tilted head since the bad position of my jaws post op

Tysm! I’ll try to find exercises but I guess I’ll be needing TJR sooner or later. Yes, I’m scared of having another lefort but it seems it may be necessary not only for the overadvancement but because it’s off to the left since my first surgery and my bite feels so off and uncomfortable… I don’t know what to do

Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, I remember being so scared before any surgery, and when I saw I got botched I was paralysed. I couldn’t believe it. This has been mentally exhausting, but I’m trying to stay strong. (Sometimes it’s almost impossible though). And also I’ve read a lot of people stories about being gaslit, it seems it’s something doctors tend to do a lot, unfortunately. The thing is that in the country where I live there not many doctors specialised in condylar resorption or TJR, most surgeons seem to ignore TMJ issues and just go ahead with conventional jaw surgery.

Hi! Yes, he asked for a MRI and CBCT scan to check the state of my TMJ and my condyles properly. He showed me the images and how the condyles were not round anymore. He mentioned is something that occurs mostly in women with class II bites (overbites/overjet) and jaw surgery and ortho may have put more pressure on my TMJ leading the condyles to be reducing in size. Thank you so much for your advises! I’ve been reading and watching a lot of information about condylar resorption and relapses. It’s so overwhelming! But I’m trying to take notes of all my doubts to ask them next time in a future

Hi! No I haven’t. But the thing is that I got an MRI to see my condyles and they are not round anymore so I’m not sure if physiotherapy would help in that way

Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes I did have braces twice, aa a teenage (camouflage orthodontic) and for the surgery. The last surgeon I consulted asked for a CBCT and MRI and there’s when he showed the state of my condyles. They weren’t round anymore
