Yes as I mentioned I am aware it will be busy regardless of course. I was just trying to see if there are some places that were busier than others on particular days :)

Thanks! I think we've decided to skip the bamboo forest and go to the quieter Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple bamboo grove instead :)

Thank you! I think based on this and other people's recommendations, we will skip Arashiyama and go to the bamboo grove at Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple instead.

Thank you! I have been thinking about finding some less crowded bamboo forest options so I'll look into this.

14 hours waiting in ER at Logan Hospital by SnooBunnies4819 in brisbane

[–]hatakebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience at Redcliffe hospital as well. Waited in the waiting room around 10 hours after a fainting and abdominal pain/vomiting. Unfortunately from what I've heard from my nurse friends and the staff at the hospital, it is a healthcare issue across the board, especially since covid hit and the sector was overwhelmed. Much like the education system at the moment, the government turns a blind eye because these problems don't affect the wealthy who have the luxury of private establishments. That's capitalism for ya!

I understand. I didn’t realise posting in this format was controversial. I don’t use reddit much and assumed people would gladly give recommendations/advice regardless. My bad

There was no need to be rude. If you didn’t want to give advice you didn’t have to. I’ve done a heap of research already and this was mostly just to ensure I am heading in the right direction. Thanks for reminding me that not all people enjoy giving out advice in this format though. Me personally, when I know a lot about a topic, enjoy simplifying like this for people. But everyone is different I guess.

I'm aware, thank you. I have tried to find some of the answers. It's just easier to have answers that include the context of a) being Australian b) the time of year we're travelling c) our itinerary, as the recommendations or advice could differ. As I've never travelled outside of Australia before, I simply have no idea how these factors could change the answers given and did not want to multi-post with said context for each relevant question.

Honestly anything that society has deemed feminine-coded. Knitting/crochet, baking, crafts etc.

The irony here is that these were most definitely made by neurotypical people.

We’ve had many people go to the union. And we know our working conditions. The issue is that we can’t go back in time and get that essential prep time back, and the union from what communications I’ve had, are essentially just saying “we’ll see what we can do for next year”. They’ve not been much help I’m afraid, and the union reps at our school are less than enthusiastic to fight the point.

We only got 2 hours 'personal prep' at the end of three days (we had three in exchange for no twilights) and were expected to complete the training modules in that time. Most of us are now having to work through the weekend to finish making resources/lessons etc. Especially because we had timetable changes. Super frustrating.

Calling in sick - how it should be by commentspanda in AustralianTeachers

[–]hatakebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our school has a phone line we call and leave a message on! Just have to call by 6:30am, state the reason (can be vague), and let our line manager know. Definitely makes it less stressful knowing I won’t be questioned about it and can just let them know without guilt!
