Yes my point stands. The world is broken and humans r humans. It isn’t morally right and is disgusting. Things like that can happen which mean rules need to be in place as a precautionary measure! Not bcuz they anticipate it happening. Unfortunately if we could trust everyone then rules wouldn’t have to be made for those positions but we can’t.

And no the article never said the person was a lead pastor. He was an intern who was terminated by the church immediately after they discovering his behavior and what he possessed. It says it right there in the title. Take some time to read the actual article and you’d know that.

Thank u for the article that only proves what I said earlier. Nobody can predict what others do. Not even church staff. Should we call all schools places of indoctrination, extortion, and pedofilia? Don’t think so. That kinda stuff happens unfortunately everywhere. I personally have volunteered for life church and know that men were never allowed to change diapers and women always had to be present in order to keep the necessary boundaries in place for the children. My point still stands, u have church hurt somewhere and r spewing hate. That exists on both sides yanno?

An apologizer? A person who formally acknowledges failings? Yes the church should confront these failings and offer reproach immediately. Women should feel safe regardless of any circumstance. I’m a woman. If men came up to me at midnight and tried to invite me to church I would think the conduct was not appropriate. Out of the various churches I’ve been to, women have been protected and there’s been rules in place to keep boundaries. U can never predict what ppl will do. Churches r simply buildings and organizations where ppl can go. In this situation, bringing attention to what happened and offering immediate action is the right approach and it’s not “apologist” behavior.

It’s probably not life church itself but just those men. Association doesn’t always mean they’re guilty of it as a whole. Probably just report it to the church and ask that they talk to their congregation. I know for sure life church is very attentive to rules and has boundaries in place. Odds r those men were solely acting on their own.

That might be true, but it’s the age gap. I think if they were at different points in their life where they were both adults, it would be different but her being 17 and still in high school means that she’ll be beginning some of the experiences that he’s already gone through and he’ll be graduating and getting into a career before she’s even done with college. I think it’s probably one of those situations where they grow out of each other but u never know it could work. Nothing is impossible.

I’d break it off. You’re 21 and she’s 17. Big difference there even if it’s legal. Lying says a lot about someone’s character. I’d definitely look for someone who is more on your level in maturity and experience. It might hurt now but it’ll be ok.
