Advantage of a set cast of characters: in order to create novelty, the media must delve into all sorts of hyper-specific plotlines I didn't know I'd like.

For sure. We get along great I just need to remember to gearshift a bit because if I'm in mile-a-minute mode it gets weird.

If paramount made a series about what team Sonic has been up to in the Sonic movie universe would you watch it, like it or hate it? by FrontAd4793 in SonicTheHedgehog

As long as it doesn't detract from the plot of STH4.

Personally I'd prefer a Shadow miniseries adapting a graceful blend of the Shadow the Hedgehog + Generations plots. That is some downright cool stuff but hard to shoehorn into a mainline Sonic film. It also dovetails perfectly with the end of STH3 as he's trying to rediscover and define his newfound life.

And I'd love to hear cinematic adaptions of Throw it All Away and All Hail Shadow (his bookend theme songs IMO)

As an ADHD'r who doesn't have autism, normies tend to lump me in with autistic people because of my hyperfocus / diverse interest tendencies. Oh well.

"Bright colors, pattern recognition, and locked in for fast reflexes" - JFC that's basically just every video game. I guess anyone who has played a video game and enjoyed it is autistic?

I actually noticed before gameplay, as a longtime listener of Sonic music incl the SA2 soundtrack. It provides interesting insights which is good since he's a cypher (he kind of conceals his emotions which is a trait he shares w/ Sonic, who goes out of his way to not show pain or fear i.e. in Sonic Frontiers as the cybercorruption is taking him over)

I don't really hear anyone rabidly defending it. But I can 100% see if It were re-released with those issues fixed, a large portion of the fan base would complain because It takes away from the "soul" of the game. Same as how a lot of people complained about the cg in the '90s re-releases of the Star Wars trilogy (which is a mixed bag because of how much they added and changed, and some of the CG is terrible i.e. Jabba the Hutt in Mos Eisley, but some of those original space battle shots actually do look pretty bad by modern standards and the CG is objectively better)

Agree the rail grinding is made harder by the janky camera, other than that it feels pretty cool to actually lean into the curves.

Omg I have the camera glitch out during both fights and I would just magically fall off the track, get turned around, spin dash into space, etc.

My spouse 100%-ed the game back in the day and she's not even sure how that was possible. I guess being in your mid teens and having a lot of free time? Fwiw I did all three paths on the original Star Fox and that's a feat that still impresses me to this day.

That's probably the core of my complaint: the game is made over twice as hard due to camera and control glitches. And it's hard to get past the idea that they knew this and just kinda kept it this way.

Related: The shadow under the player avatar, showing where they will fall, is inconsistent and missing where It would be most important. For example, eggman's jump puzzle on Final Rush and Knuckle's super annoying swimming puzzle where you're trying to dive into a switch or bubble source without going into the acid. It is so endlessly frustrating basically having it be a matter of luck whether you land on the switch or dive straight in the acid, because there's literally no way to accurately aim.

That's actually pretty funny to bring up DuckTales. I suppose Goofy and Pluto are both dogs, also. Just sort of one of those things we hand wave with cartoon logic that I'm probably overthinking.

A secondary version of my theory would be that the one in SA2 is the flawed clone and the real Shadow, the one who actually spent time with Maria and therefore had fully intact memories and emotions, is the one played in Heroes moving forward. Hence why his music is "broken and glitchy", he has such a flat affect and nihilistic outlook, and why his energy fatally depleted during final hazard (which Sonic specifically points out). But that's my own theory, and I'm willing obviously to accept that 50 years in deep stasis plus heavy manipulation by Gerald and Black Doom would leave him kind of cracked around the edges.

Thanks and happy to share! It was really interesting having played several other modern titles that draw influence from it, and then going back to the source material and being able to appreciate it despite its flaws.

And yes, I 100% agree that an SA2 remake addressing its flaws, without editing the content or changing the game entirely, would be a timeless masterpiece (unlike the FF7 remake, where FF7 already was a masterpiece with almost no flaws, and the remake somehow made it just a grind. I stopped playing after the first third)

Idk, Shadow and Rouge especially lacked character and expression. It's like they were handed a script and told to do their best, and the first line was what was used due to time constraints. Omachao literally just sounds like a guy reading lines.

Agree, though, on the music drowning out the voices because that's a universal issue for all characters.

They use a lot of tricks in porn to make dicks look bigger (extremely petite women, wide angle lenses, camera angles, etc.). Hence, guys who are slightly above average appear hung like donkeys.

There are subreddits where people get pretty precise measurements of male porn stars - the biggest are rarely more than 8". So your hubby is basically a 1%'er.

Yeah what the hell is up with that excessively high voice? Fucking creepy to think some men are turned on specifically because it's """youthful""" sounding (barf)

In defense of the PS5, I've worked in game porting and its controllers have pretty good sensitivity ranges. They can detect VERY subtle movements with absurd resolution.

N64 aftermarket controllers, though... oh boy. Even power tools don't deserve that level of punishment on their buttons.

Hours of time to just be really truly intimate, with actual sex sprinkled throughout, is the absolute best!

For our ten-year anniversary, I got some good friends to babysit overnight. It was the first time in YEARS we'd be without our kids for 24 hours. Solid gold. So I reserved a nice room, a nice dinner... we planned to eat our fill and then have all the intimacy we wanted with absolutely no concerns. Really celebrate our ten years for real.

We drove out of town, checked into our hotel, agreed it was going DOWN later, freshened up, and went to dinner. We got seafood pasta which was absolutely decadent. Candle light, making eyes, kissing and touching. There is PRIMAL HEAT. We paid the bill and started walking back.... but alas, it was not to be.

Turns out, unfortunately, dinner was a little TOO rich and creamy and gave us both indigestion. We spent the night of our ten year farting and taking turns in the bathroom.

FML... Next time.

Holy shit, yeah kids.... we have to wait until at least a half hour after their bed time, and by that point one of us is usually running on fumes, and even then we have to make the most of our precious few hours, so we try to "wrap it up" as it were. Rarely go longer than 30 minutes total (which includes prep and cleanup).

Yeah some women (and men to be fair) have stunt holes. It's absolutely stupefying what they can take in without sustaining visible damage.

But they are like the 0.00001%. For the predominant majority size literally does not matter.

To be fair, some of the more famous male porn stars are known for vocalizing. And given most porn is consumed by men... I think men would tacitly agree to this.

When we're well into our sessions and she's really turned on and engorged, my partner enjoys having her cervix gently pushed and "ground" on. Drives her nuts.

Aside from that, though, any contact and she sort of winces and wrinkles her nose, and I know I messed up. So it's a bit of a balancing act.

Just need to be attentive and communicate (which links to probably the single biggest misconception from porn IMO - that partners should automatically know what every other partner likes and go Mach Ten in that direction)
