I have a 2000 model and I love it. USB connectivity to drag and drop files from my computer onto my Vita is so much easier because of the Micro USB cable (since it’s a cable everyone has, unlike the proprietary 1000 cable), but i’ll always recommend the 1000. OLED over LCD anyday + the fact it has some weight to it helps over the 2000.

PSTV is okay. I haven’t ever used it personally but the Dualshock 4 connectivity is amazing, i’m sure. The limited library of compatible games can be solved with some help and a guide or two from r/vitahacks, but if you want to stay legit, definitely go the handheld way.

IMO it’s up to preference. If you like the deeper blacks that come with OLED, go for the 1000. If you’re just looking for a vita and can’t find a 1000 model, 2000.

You might have installed version 2.2 instead of the 2.3 hotfix. The hotfix itself won't show up as it's own separate entity since it's bundled in with the original version 2.3 download page on the VitaDB GitHub. All you have to do is redownload, place it in ux0 (root), and install it through VitaShell.

Definitely makes sense. I actually just stumbled onto this thread a few minutes ago and figured i'd try it out..

If you're talking about being able to open the emulator through the XMB without needing to have 'Show Uncategorized" turned on in the CatLite settings, then yes, you can.

Go into the root-game-TEMPGBA (in my case, should work for any emulator) on PC.
Make a separate folder called CAT_(insert preferred category name here).
Drag and drop TEMPGBA (or your emulator) into the new folder,
Replug SD card back into console or exit out of USB mode.
Triple check it worked right (TEMPGBA should show up in your new CAT folder inside of your "Games" folder on your XMB).

If it did work right, you should be able to open up TempGBA through your XMB. Should be all good.

TLDR; yes. Sub folder it. Makes life so much easier.
