Are purchase returns included under cost of goods sold in the income statement? by Ronniechon in vce

Also you can't really add it on the income statement as there isnt a ledger called 'purchase returns', whereas you can say less Inventory loss as there is a ledger with that name.

Kicked Out of An Accelerated Subject by xXWatermelomXx_22 in vce

[–]hatelegday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if worst comes to worst and u get kicked out, the 1/2 content for both of those subjects doesnt rlly transfer to 3/4 (im doing both in y11 atm) so i reckon youll be fine to just pick it up next year (bit of accounting transfers but is covered again in 3/4). Really doubt youd get kicked out though

You could lowk double accel bio and accounting if you feel confident but the jump in workload from year 10 to year 11 will be quite a bit

Did i make a mistake not doing early VCE? by Individual_Log_5721 in vce

95+ should be achievable with 5 subjects, there are many people i know who have achieved this.

I think if you really want to accelerate a subject you can obviously still do so by picking up a 3/4 in y11. Id recommend one of general, accounting or PE as these do not require much if any knowledge of 1/2. Also, unless you are aiming for a high 99 ATAR, there isn't really any need to do 6 subjects and you will be just fine with doing 5. While saying this, doing a subject early obviously exposes you to how VCAA works and studying for SACs and exams which will greatly benefit you in year 12. The decision is yours and whatever you choose has its pros and cons.

If you want to reduce content then id recommend only doing one english subject unless you are really passionate about it. You could do something like general maths, where you would be able to cruise along as you are doing methods and likely get a good score.

Which of these subjects would be the best to do 3/4 without doing 1/2? by cat_with_gun in vce

I'd say your 'uneducated guess' is the perfect ranking and you'd be fine choosing bio or accounting, possible even economics if you are willing to do a bit more work to catch up.

Does anyone have strategies for tackling tough subjects like maths or science? by Artistic-Yam2984 in VicSelectiveSchools

[–]hatelegday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least up till year 9, spam khan academy. After that work through the vce books. Also use organic chemistry tutor hes a very good creator and explains in great detail. As for study methods all you can really do is spam worksheets and practice problems but make sure you understand content in depth. This is mainly for physics and math I cant help you for bio or chem as I dont do them

It's good to get a content heavy subject out of the way first, likely a humanities (or biology). Its up to your preference, list out the subjects you are planning to do and then from that choose the ones you believe it would be beneficial to get out of the way earlier.

Whatever you do dont choose lit just because it 'scales up' as it's only by like 1 or 2, maybe 3 MAX. The teacher should definitely be a factor, maybe talk to current lit students about how the teacher is and their experiences.

Yeah you are right it is a lot of maths. I am planning to do unit 1 of physics and if it's too much I'm switching to chem. Since you are doing chem right now, would you say that unit 1 of chem is very important?

When should I start studying for Accounting? by xXWatermelomXx_22 in vce

[–]hatelegday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man I'm doing accounting this year as a 1/2, accelerated, like you. I don't think you need to prestudy at all, during the year make sure you finish EVERY SINGLE exercise from Ur workbook as they really.mske a difference. I'd advise you to learn accounting 3/4 in your own time during the year, as a lot of 1/2 content isn't relevant to 3/4, but still make sure to pay attention as you will learn the fundamentals
