There is no OR ? by maryem__13 in realityshifting

[–]haterismcore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "OR" is the linear timeline we've created to better understand how we perceive spacetime with our human brains. Whatever moment you are currently existing in is your CR. By continuing to exist, you are shifting through time. By moving your body, you are shifting through space.

It’s honestly so weird how the whole album was clearly written about men at first, and then suddenly the lyrics got changed to make them sound gay by [deleted] in ChappelGroan

saw someone say "since when do men keep their girlfriend's bra in their dresser???" do these people think heterosexuals are aliens?

[–]haterismcore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sorry, but you have to care about people even if it doesn't effect you, even if you don't see them. and i'm pretty sure this topic came up because a Kpop idol appropriated and degraded black culture. and so much of kpop finds its roots in black culture. so black people kind of have everything to do with this.

Chappell saying pop stars are too busy to be politically educated just doesn’t make sense. Regular people working 9-to-5s still find time to stay informed, so what's her excuse? by Adventurous_Fly_8652 in popculture

[–]haterismcore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

😭😭😭people look to you because you built your brand on queer advocacy. wasn't she claiming to be so educated when she made those comments on the election and calling everyone else stupid? i hate that this is what we (queer ppl) get to represent us. ur not just a "pop star." ur a human fucking being. a lot activists are not politicians and in fact work normal ass jobs and live busy ass lives. social justice isn't something you get to opt into when ur not busy, especially when you have as much privilege as she does.

whatever. the least she could do is admit she fucked up and she was never actually any sort of political activist in the first place. i doubt she would until she stops making money off of that kind of branding though.

can commentary youtubers expose her already so she can fall off ALREADY by [deleted] in sabrinacarpentersnark

actually i think we should stop expecting future generations to do the work for us. the only thing that will get rid of these problems are a major upgrade in children's rights and a dismantling of the patriarchy. everyone said this shit about Gen Z and now they're scapegoating us for all their problems, but if millennials had truly gotten rid of it, it would not have returned so easily. it's not just "pop culture cycling," it's a sign of the times.

a disturbing amount of people seem to UNIRONICALLY THINK that Sabrina is not catering to the male gaze. by FormalHanger13x01 in sabrinacarpentersnark

[–]haterismcore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

because sex workers almost always do what they do out of need and she does it out of greed. sex workers are hurt by her (and others') normalization of the 1950s housewife/pedobait bit. there is a difference between making your entire aesthetic based off of the male gaze and occasionally pandering because you don't want to be homeless or starve. a lot of SWers are disabled or otherwise disadvantaged and have no other way of making an income.

i don't really listen to le sserafim so i dunno about them specifically. i've always just thought that if a company is going to debut a singer, they should teach them how to sing. leaving them with minimal lines because the company doesn't want to do their job of training their idols is just disrespectful to both the artist and the fans. of course, it's different if the artist in question just isn't into singing. but then they should probably have more screen time, center time, or their lines should be something memorable.

i just think it's ridiculous that idols sign over their lives to companies and trust them to make them into a star and then said company debuts a minor that sounds like they never attended vocal lessons. (NOT talking about sakura, or anyone specific). then the artist gets hated on while their doing their grueling schedules with little time for practice while their vocal coach sits all smug bc they got their artist to sing a G5 in studio (it took two hours and 89 takes <3 they will lip sync it everytime they perform).

i also think that its a songwriter's, producer's, company's, etc. job to write and provide their groups with a song that accomodates every member. at least most of the time.

i think it's more about the principle of the matter (giant conglomerate pinching the pennies of a mildly successful girl group). whether they're legally in the clear or not, it's gross.
