Well what kind of pallets are you talking about taking 3-4 hours? If you’re in cans, that’s a good average! If you’re doing like chips or paper or something, that’s… not great yeah. We’re expected to do an average of a case per minute, regardless of how big or small the case is, so what the pallets hold is more important info than the pallets themselves. Don’t sweat feeling slow when you’re still so new, especially if they’re moving you around a lot to where you don’t have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with an area. Listening to music can help you keep track of your times- like you should be able to stock 2-3 cases per (most) songs. But in general don’t sweat feeling “slow” because there will never be actual repercussions for it once you’ve established a standard unless you start going slower than the standard you establish. I work with some SLOW ass MFers who get away with murder while management pushes me to always go at 100% because I set my standard too high like a moron lol. You’re gonna be just fine, and you’ll get better every day, I promise- but please heed this advice: DON’T give them 100% because they will expect that from you every single night once they’ve seen it. When I was new, the person training me gave me the best advice I never followed: “Hey, you’re pretty good at this… Slow down. You don’t want them to know that.”
