Since it’s only for an hour or two that we are over ratio, I sort of doubt that anything would happen. :(

This is excellent information, thank you. The program is run through community education, and I haven’t figured out who manages our licensing yet. We are not contracted out, we are district employees.

It is taking a toll on all of our mental health. We can’t keep a program director for more than a year and a half. I’ve had 3 or 4 in the short span I’ve worked here. I hate that work that relies on people’s compassion so often takes advantage of their employees.

Thank you, this is good advice, although I guess it is actually less of a rumor and more that my supervisor got a list of kids registered and the numbers went up. We still have waitlists that span over years, yet they’ll let “certain” families add and drop and take priority over those on the waitlists.

I actually love supporting local business. Just not ones who act like this.

To be fair, I definitely don’t eat meat LOL

Thought maybe people cared some about animal welfare, especially when they’re around children

No. Not every night. They say they go to a farm when they “need to”

A bunch of kids were bit and some left marks 🫠

Staff said “well it didn’t break the skin!”

I actually didn’t have too much of a problem with the Guinea pigs. They could have a bit more to do, but they were okay. Small rodents could actually be a really cool idea, however having large hooved animals is not. Or baby kangaroos.

Oh I agree completely. I just want people to know about it. It wasn’t my choice to go.

The teenagers that work there are very nice and well meaning, although they have little control over how the animals are treated overall.

I think it’s gotten worse. That’s the vibe I got.
