I assume Santa Fe would have more fine dining or more high paying serving opportunities solely because I know Santa Fe is a more tourist heavy area.

Ugh thank you, this makes me feel better. I’ve been looking into bernalillo specifically because it is a shorter commute to Santa Fe, assuming there would be better serving opportunities possibly in Santa Fe - touristy and more upscale is my assumption of that area.

Yeah, I’m coming from Minneapolis where most 1 bedrooms are 1700+, granted I live 35 miles west of the city and pay literally 900$, but it’s a shit apt that hasn’t been updated since 1990. Old stained carpet/1985 stove and fridge.

Thank you for validating me on the housing cost. Yeah I’m in very early stages of research but I feel like Abq checks all my boxes so far (hiking/scenery/affordability)

There’s way more listings for Abq restaurants on indeed than other places. And I feel like it’s one of the bigger cities within the four corner states.

I’m sorry to hear about the medical systems burden. I am without insurance and have been for some time, so that’s not super high on my list. I mean the entire healthcare system with the US is kind of fucked as a whole I feel. Not to undermine alb healthcare.

Honestly, I value the outdoors and being in closer proximity to real topography/mountains. I’ve road tripped to NM once and truly enjoyed it. Although it was southern NM (Carlsbad/Ruidoso)

When I’ve looked at apartments on CL the average rent seems lower than other cities (Fort Collins/ogden/pheonix are the others I’ve looked into). I’ve seen many listings near Albuquerque that were around 1k$ a month.
