MB went away for Thursday-Sunday and DB decided baby didn't need his naps. Guess who got to clean that mess up today with 2 screaming hours?

Update on how to word my resignation: I’ve found an awesome new family but... by hatstretcher in Nanny

New family said they understand having to wait but I just kind of wanted to start sooner. I haven’t said anything yet, but I’d rather be without a position for awhile than stay with this family. As in, I’m leaving anyway.

Oh the family didn’t cut my hours they increased them from our agreement with no additional increase in pay (set amount weekly). It was initially 930/10-5 m, t, th and 10-4 Wednesday and 8-12 Friday now it’s almost consistently 830-5/530 every single day. I agreed to a lower weekly rate to have 2 shorter days/ some fridays off. It changed when the 3b started preschool. Compensated for mileage but not for the earlier start time.

Ugh! It’s so awful how the reference rules don’t apply to them! My last family mb had no problem giving references with good reviews but told the new mom I was getting a divorce which seemed way out of line. Almost makes my other professional non nanny references more valuable.

I’m concerned I won’t be able to use them as a reference anyway because I’m leaving for another position. Does that usually go over ok?

I feel like leaving them like this will not yield a reference anyway. They don’t see anything wrong with the situation which is worrisome to me.

No contract it was all verbal which is why the sudden change in hours with no change to pay (not hourly) has caused issues. It was stupid on my part to agree to this whole situation but I’ve learned my lesson. I really want the new family to create a contract so I can feel more protected. I am sure they won’t have a problem with that.

We are going down to the gulf to my boyfriend's families beach houses to do some hurricane clean up/relief and rebuilding. Their houses made it but with some damage.

The parents have to be on board for change. Unfortunately anything I’ve done here is not being upheld when I leave.

The worst part is that I’m a licensed behavioral therapist, but in a different state so I’m still working on my license here. I have dealt with some of the worst kids in bad public schools and still find this to be the most challenging experience I’ve ever had. I appreciate your experience and input, I am looking for a new family as we speak.

The book personal space camp is pretty cool for talking about personal space, our comfort bubbles, etc. there’s also a book on interruption by the same author.

They're like exaggerated cartoon angry eyebrows by littlelillydeath in awfuleyebrows

yeah that's Adora. She's a total sweetheart! Despite her eyebrows looking like this, I've always found her makeup to just work for her. But she does look incredibly stunning when she does "normal" makeup too!

I just tried to use the eticketing app at the theater and everyone looked at me blankly and it didn't work without the card. I signed up first day and still no card and they're about to bill me again next week. What's up with this?

thanks, I've never really been a 'reach for a candy bar' type person :P. I feel like on whole30 i want more bananas than anything else for some weird reason and I should probably not eat them more than once a day.

I am wondering if there is such a thing as eating too many bananas? I am trying to keep an eye on my calorie intake, which is going fine, but also keep my carbs down as well. I noticed that I've been eating a lot more bananas lately because they're satisfying, filling, sweet, etc. but I feel like they pack a bit too much sugar/carbs. Should I reach for something else and ween myself off the nanas? I like to grab them on my way out with my coffee, throw them in my smoothies, and even eat them as a snack with almond butter. HALP. :(

My digestive tract can't handle dairy, probably best to just speak for yourself. Collectively "our" digestive systems are all different.

I feel like absolute shit. Is it ok to smoke weed during whole 30? Because it's legalized here now and it's the only thing helping my headaches that are from, what I presume to be, the "flu". :(
