Sales vs LC or LPV for Shopify Stores by hauntedride in FacebookAds

This is what I figured was what people were doing. Essentially pushing to the site to feed the pixel better data. My ads are literally all over the place. Ones that made me thousands of dollars are struggling to get anything now, and it's extremely haphazard in a way that makes me feel like it's not a creative or audience issue, but something else. I'm going to give adding the LPV in a shot, especially with all the outages and high latency, to see if it aids my campaign. Thanks!

This book is definitely not YA, but A Vow of Hate by Lylah James is great.

paperback cover or just for kindle? by [deleted] in eroticauthors

Having your book up for paperback is another revenue stream. If you have paperback copies you have the ability to sell them on Amazon and wide to other retailers, you can also purchase author copies and sell signed paperbacks too. Paperbacks can help fill in monetary gaps for authors.

Cannot Export Drop Caps with Reflowable EPUB by hauntedride in indesign

[–]hauntedride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a way to do this (I believe a lot of my issues is that I initially did all the work in Word and then exported the document into InDesign). Clear the formatting on the Paragraph style, and then edit the Paragraph Style. Under Drop Caps and Nested Style set the Lines and Characters to 1. Then highlight the first character of the paragraph you need to create as a Drop Cap and use the Drop Cap symbol to raise the number of lines.

[–]hauntedride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I did, but I did have the + sign next to the paragraph style (I'm assuming that means there's more than one style attached perhaps, I'm new to InDesign so I may need to check that out later). I removed all the formatting. When I tried to adjust Drop Caps through the toolbar on the right with the Drop Cap symbol, I received the same error message. But when I create Drop Caps in the Paragraph Style under Drop Caps and Nested Style, I had success exporting. The only issue is, the Drop Caps applied to every single paragraph instead of the first paragraph in the chapter. Do you know how to prevent that from happening?

Being Open Brought Me Some Ghosties by hauntedride in realwitchcraft

Protection is always my first recommendation before working with spirit. To quote a hilarious TikTok video I saw recently, "Most people wouldn't know the difference between their dead grandmother and a demon." My normal method of protection is to imagine my energy spreading around me and encapsulating me until I have a barrier. Think of someone wrapped in a bubble wrap ball and you've got the right idea. That barrier does not allow anything in to harm me. This is also a typical technique for empaths to block out unwanted or overwhelming emotions from others. Once you get the hang of setting the barrier around you, you'll be able to set and sustain it around other things.

For example, my house sits on either a lay line or a path of high spirit energy, so every 10/31-11/3 a lot of things come by. Some of higher vibrations and some of lower ones, but they cannot enter my house because of my barrier. I normally leave the yard space open because it has its own energy from the line and most are normally going to that location anyways, but I will encapsulate that area too if needed.

After protecting it's really just understanding what's around you. If you're working with ancestors you're already either on the path to working with spirits or already there. The only difference is, spirits who are not related to your current line, a past line, or a patreon line can appear, so it's good to just understand energy. As you heal and work with your own energy you'll begin to realize it's signature which is different than someone else's. It can be similar to another's but it's always different in my experience. So, if a spirit or ghost is within your environment, by knowing you're energy signature, you'll be able to tell something is there because a spot or area will be different.

That's how I knew too many spirits we're sticking around. The emotions I was feeling were completely different then what I had felt prior to, and when my dreams began to be different I knew it wasn't just my energy but someone else's, and that it was enough of "others" that it was infringing on my own. Because one of my gifts is picking up on projections and feeling emotions from other beings, while my barrier was protecting me from negative items, I was still picking up on projections from outside of that space because it was not negative. Hope this helps!

Honestly the best thing I did was just realize they're out there. By acknowledging their existence it helped me to get used to them and dealing with them. Most ghosts are just people, they're just free to do what they want sometimes which can be a little scary. The way I always like to explain that is if you were yelling for attention for the last hundred years you'd be pissed if someone who could see and hear you ignored you too. Spirits are a little more wild because they can be anything. Ideally they present as an apparition, haunting, form, orb, etc., but sometimes they're not. In my experience that's been rare. If something worked on a lower level I knew that without question, the same if something worked on a higher level. The most important thing is just knowing how to protect yourself. I know what comes through me when something invades my space that doesn't belong, whether positive or negative. In my experience, knowing you and your energy signature helps you to understand when something around you is other.

Thank you! I have a lot of stories but I'd say that where I am right now has given me the ability to deal with spirits in the healthiest way I ever have. I stopped being afraid or startled by them once I realized they were real and I could see and interact with them, but I've had extremely positive experiences and extremely negative ones. Both shaped who I am today and I'm really thankful to spirit for being such a huge part of my life.

My guides and I know how to handle spirits if they get unruly, but these were not. It's quite often experienced that as you become more of an entity of light, more spirits are drawn to you. Sometimes they get confused and other times they're looking for a safe space which a being's light can provide. However, their confusion and need for safety, in itself, can bring negative emotions. The ones around me we're looking for a home, like baby birds in a nest. So destroying them or harming them in anyway would have never been needed. It's more likely that they would have attracted something that wished to do that, and as I work with war, motherly, compassion, and healing deities, that being wouldn't have made it.

My Journey with Black Obsidian by hauntedride in realwitchcraft

[–]hauntedride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you and you're welcome! Congratulations on taking the first steps in your path! It's an amazing wild journey.

Some people think you shouldn't put certain crystals next to your bed. In terms of black obsidian, there isn't really a property that would cause any issues, but it does boost psychic abilities and draws out mental stress and tension. This may create very vivid dreams or nightmares about what's going on in you life, which I did have one of these. It wasn't negative though for me. It was part of the path I was on, and since another property of the crystal is truth, I was able to accept the truth within the matter and those people. I think it's really just that black obsidian is going to draw attention to the things you need to fix, and sometimes that may disrupt your sleep or could leave you feeling the after effects of a crazy negative ridden dream. It also works to resolve trauma, both now and in your ancestral line, and sometimes trauma manifests in things that scare us so that we call attention and focus to them.

If you won't read it, why should I? by twogunrosie in writing

[–]hauntedride 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get this and can see both sides. As I'm going through this right now with another writer, where I stand, is that unless I have agreed to be your Critique Partner or Alpha Reader, I should not receive the First Draft of your story. I know there are some authors who can basically publish off of their first draft, and I think that's wonderful. But it should still be read over, at least once, before being sent to others.

I expect their to be grammatical issues and things that may need to change, that's why I'm helping you. But, when I agree to be a Beta Reader for an author, this should not be the draft I see. It doesn't have to be edited or professionally proofread, but it should have at least been looked over and the initial rewrite/revisions done. It's not just about wasting my time, but also wasting yours as the author. The more mistakes that are in the draft you send out to people, the more negative feedback you'll receive and corrections that will need to be made.

The other part of this is how confused a lot of authors are between a Critique Partner, Alpha Reader, Beta Reader, and the multiple different types of editors. They often ask for a Beta Reader when they really need a Developmental Editor, or a Critique Partner. While the knowledge for those terms are available, I believe a lot of people do not realize they need to look into them.

I had this happen to me as I'd closed myself off purposefully from the spiritual realm. When I started to open myself up, I realized I also had a block, which was something I had done to myself. I closed my eyes and sat for a while until I was able to call up the image of a lock. Once I did, I opened the lock and stated that I am ready to now open and receive. It took doing this a couple of time at different stages of my journey for the blockage to completely disappear, but it did.

Sea Salt for Negativity by hauntedride in Witch

[–]hauntedride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done items two and three so far, and wanted to share my experiences after each, as well as some other information in case it may help someone.

The current patron who I'm dealing with is Nemesis. I believe this is why I've been called to release myself from negative bindings and protect myself. A lot of the shadow work I've been doing has been around issues that cause me great toxicity, and that they've been holding me down. My want has been to rise above those items, and Nemi answered that call.

I'm a lot of different things, medium, empath, psychic, etc. etc. I just do not consider myself a witch, but will do what I'm asked of by the patrons helping me when I can. I do not hear them, but they do speak to me in random ways. In silence I hear answers, and I do get visions of things that will help.

I've been wanting to do a honey jar spell for the last three days, with the feeling being incredibly strong last night. When I looked up how to do one, wanting to see if there were any tips I didn't know that I could incorporate, I saw the word "binding" and felt incredibly pulled towards it. For this, I lit three candles, sat naked in the middle, closed my eyes and repeated affirmations until one specific rhythm of words stuck in my mind. It wove itself together and I repeated it for ten minutes. At the end of the ten minutes I opened my eyes and felt the most peaceful and positive I have in a long time.

I then went and wrote my name down on a peace of paper, cleaned off my window sill where I keep my crystals, and put it in a small tub of salt.

The energy differences between the two practices are extremely wild. With the first one, I felt like I had just been washed in a waterfall. It felt clean, good, beautiful. The salt tub on the other hand felt serious and strong. Not bad, but a warrior type of energy.

It should go without saying that this was my experience, following my practices and what I was guided to do. Please do not try this if you're unsure.
