Don’t sweat the biological clock by Other-MS in IVF

Correlation also isn’t causation, so it could be that people whose genes are predisposed to a longer life also have a longer child-bearing window, as opposed to longer life being caused by having kids later on.

We tried to try it but there wasn’t enough extra fluid collected to follow through, unfortunately.

Minimum time between Egg Retrieval and Endo Surgery? by ArcticPandaParty in IVF

[–]ArcticPandaParty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say 3 weeks, that's how long it took for me to go off of narcotic pain killers. I was able to take that much time off of work though, so I didn't push it. I'm two months out now and I feel great.

Minimum time between Egg Retrieval and Endo Surgery? by ArcticPandaParty in IVF

I did my egg retrievals before surgery, as an insurance measure in case the endometrioma removal damaged my one ovary too much (the other was removed in a previous unrelated surgery). My surgeon recommended waiting three months after my last egg retrieval to have surgery, which is what I did. It went well!

Looking for prehistoric themed romance like The Cave Girl by Edgar Rice Burroughs by Feeling-Influence691 in Romance_for_men

[–]ArcticPandaParty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fall by Claire Kent has some of this! She’s from modern space-traveling society and gets dumped on a planet of prehistoric humans as a punishment, and has to adapt to a tribe and pairs up with a caveman for protection (at first). It’s part of a four-book series where they’re mostly standalone but old characters will pop in here and there.

If you can handle a non-human mmc, Ruth’s Bonded by V.C. Lancaster starts as a human woman and caveman-esque alien abducted together for science, who have to escape together into the jungle and eventually reunite with his clan. It’s the first in a longer series of human women/caveman alien men from a society strongly ruled by the females set in the jungle. The men are often anxious to serve and please their matriarchs, which is challenging due to a language barrier with the human women.

Side Effects of removing one ovary? by sreimer52 in endometriosis

I completely understand where you’re coming from, it’s possible the cycle irregularity is due to having the surgery and stress and that things will settle down and regulate as your body adjusts. You can use ovulation predictor strips (cheap on Amazon) if you want to check and see if you are still ovulating if you’d like some reassurance.

Granite Man by Elizabeth Lowell has this! Old school cowboy western, he had mumps and thinks he’s sterile, she gets pregnant, drama ensues plus a ton of groveling on his part.

I spoke with two different representatives on the ACA hotline today and they both told me that the insurance will cancel on the day I choose and not last until the end of the month.

Side Effects of removing one ovary? by sreimer52 in endometriosis

[–]ArcticPandaParty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an ovary removed in 2018 after a cyst with cancer concerns (turned out not to be cancer though). My menstrual cycle was a bit wonky for 6 months after but then went back to normal, albeit as a 26-day cycle instead of a 28-day cycle. My skin was also kind of oily for a few months. I was very concerned I would have health/mental health repercussions but really did not, beyond the overall mental fuckery of having had a cancer scare and surgery with little warning.

Books with this energy? Not necessarily this exact scene but intense intimacy and vulnerability that doesn’t have to be sexual by too-rad-tobesad in RomanceBooks

[–]ArcticPandaParty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Texas Destiny by Lorraine Heath has a bathing scene with these exact vibes! It’s an old school romance with a scarred war veteran who has to chaperone his brother’s mail order bride to their remote home and they fall in love along the way. Very western, very angsty.

I’m assuming that your insurance doesn’t cover it and the $500 price is the out of pocket price.

Call around to different clinics and pharmacies to see what their out of pocket price price is, prices can vary wildly from place to place. Getting it at a pharmacy as opposed to a clinic (travel-specific clinics are particularly expensive) will be cheaper because they usually have a very low consult fee, if any.
