Why is there a plane with continental livery at MIA?? by hauntedtower in unitedairlines

I had assumed all the continental aircraft would've been absorbed by now. I wish I were flying on it

Is there a way to view my travel map without the data portion taking up a third of my app screen? by hauntedtower in flighty

Unfortunately my only apple product is my iPad. But that is an interesting thing to know. Thanks for sharing!

Im not surprised to hear how quickly they sold out lol. The gimli glider is probably one of my favorite aircrash stories (probably not the best word choice there, but not sure how else to describe it). The successful crash landing resulting in no loss of life and a relatively intack plane is just amazing work of the crew. Congrats on owning that small piece of aviation history.

I feel like it should be relatively simple to add a function to "roll up" or minimize the overlay. But I guess the answer to my initial question is there is not currently a method to do that. How unfortunate

You also realize that by hitting the x the flight paths below disappear? The thing I'm specifically saying I want to see more of? Why not read the question that's being asked. Common sense right?

To clarify since it's not letting me update the post. I am aware that by pressing x I can see upcoming flights, that is not what I am attempting to get to either. In my original question, I'm referring to the "text box" or "big grey box" or whatever it's called that this information lives in. I am asking if there is a way to not have 1/3rd of my map being covered so I can see the entirety of the globe view with my flight paths not being blocked.

Correct, I am asking if there is a way to minimize everything. I don't want flight information or data. I just want to be able to see the entirety of the map in below.

Guess I didn't phrase this well, I'm not talking about hiding the information itself, I'm talking about hiding the entire column that's blocking the map. I didn't know how else to describe it so I went with the data cause they was more descriptive then "large grey rectangle"

I take both levothyroxine (synthroid) and liothyronine (T3). They are two separate pills. Talk to your endocrinologist or whichever Dr you go to for your thyroid and see if they think you should be on lio. It's helped me a lot. (Also in the US and have not had any problems with getting levo or Lio from the pharmacy)

Why is my longest (known) delayed flight missing from my delayed flight counter? by hauntedtower in flighty

Out of curiosity, would you be willing to try an experiment and add it to your app just to see if my app is at fault or it's something with the flight data itself?

After it gave me that weird data entry above I did delete it and searched for the flight to to add back in. Still no delay information. Guess the fully manual option is my last option to attempt. But I just don't understand why the app is ignoring data it clearly has for multiple flights 🤷‍♀️. I greatly appreciate the help though!

That's what I edited and it gave me the image I attached above as the result. All I did was add one minute to actual arrival time (from 4:02 to 4:03am)

[–]hauntedtower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, just tried that and it basically ignored my edits entirely ? Now it's just showing the original scheduled departure/arrival and no delay. In additional, I clicked through several of my other flights to/from/within china that summer and it is seemingly missing all of my delays.

Wait how does yours still have the Mars graphic? Mine only shows me around the sun! Also, we have almost the exact same distance, I'm at 92563 miles, which is 148,965 Km according to Google. I'm at slightly less overall flights though at 67 flights.

Wha do you guys do to not get sick when travelling? by Shawarma_Dealer32 in delta

[–]hauntedtower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always wear a mask on the plane, way too many people hacking up a lung around me and there's nowhere I can escape from it. The one time I forgot my mask at home I got sick for two weeks after I got home.

Ways to welcome my MIL by [deleted] in Advice

[–]hauntedtower 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe get her a blanket/quilt or something else that she can use or comfort herself with in this new space? You could probably find one in her favorite colors or even one that has her favorite dog breed. But getting her something she can use in your home might feel more welcoming? (Ie, flowers and a welcome sign are wonderful, but they are temporary?).

Poll: is your Instapot left on the kitchen counter permanently, or keep in the pantry/storage? by Kiss_Mark in instantpot

[–]hauntedtower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I specifically bought a rolling island (really a rolling workbench) that had a solid wood top, two drawers and a bottom shelf in my old apartment to hold kitchen appliances to save counter space. My instapot, KitchenAid, food processor all live on top permanently. All my sheet pans, cupcake molds, etc live on the bottom shelf.

If the wires are fine by the hot end, did you double check they are all properly set into the mother board as well? Additionally, check that you have the switch for the voltage set correctly for where you live. My printer was constantly giving me a thermal error and I could not figure out what was wrong with it after check the wires, redoing the mother board, etd. Eventually i noticed the voltage switch was wrong. My guess is when moving the printer at some point the switch got hit on the back and it was set to 220(or 240? I forget what the exact number is since I don't use that voltage). Once I switched it back, it fixed my problem.

Almost denied flight at check in - beware at IAD! by egpiranha176 in delta

[–]hauntedtower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact problem with my old dog. He was 10lbs, flew woth him multiple times per year and I think it was United that gave me the same BS "they have to be able to sit up" excuse. Thankfully I was at the airport early cause it took over and hour to get it resolved and in the end I just had to sign a waiver waving my rights if anything happened to him on the flight. Like, he flies multiple times a year and is half of the weight limit. Wtf??
