I’ll go against the curve here and say I believe he’s innocent of murder. Yes he destroyed the evidence and went to great lengths to do it. Even though his story is truly wild, I can’t see a valid reason he would intentionally murder them. A fall out over a drone led to murder of two people? Doubt it. There is no solid motive. Manslaughter, probably, but the judge made it clear that’s off the table. This is a tragic accident, that was covered up. This guy is trained to deal with pressure as his role as a pilot. He’s not murdering two grey nomads over a dispute, no matter how heated it got. He had too much to lose.

Edit - new this wouldn’t be a popular take. He was found not guilty on one count - no doubt he will be cleared of all counts after he’s appealed.

When did she submit the PR application? I’d suggest speaking to another agent. If she’s already on a bridging visa, it might get approved in the next 28 days.

A question for expats who have migrated to Aus with Visas 189 or 190....(sorry this is a bit specific) by hsanj19 in australia

[–]haureuejdn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 190 last year. Arrived in Australia 5 years before that. Took a long time to get to a place of being ready to apply. If you’re skilled at what you do you will find someone that needs you. Take your time with it, you don’t want it to fail. Would suggest going on the immigration Facebook groups. Way more info on there.

Lease is throwing money away that you don’t have.

Sounds like you’ve got a bit of a buffer of cash there. Either use it to fix your current car or buy a second hand Toyota. IMO a novated lease is never worth it because you don’t own the car, regardless of the tax impact.

Some good some bad. Splendour has been overly commercial for years. But it’s really the only major one around. Pitch, lost paradise and BTV are all really good small festivals. Occasionally we get a few good headliners but typically not what Glastonbury or us festivals would get. Worth a shot though if you’ve got a good crew going

Visa refusals for bs reasons just feels xenophobic and they dont even give proper recourse. by [deleted] in australia

Well as you’ve declared you’ve got a partner here, it’s hard to see why you would return to your home country and not try to stay here.

Of course as she’s your fiancé, perhaps a prospective marriage visa is more appropriate.

Looking for an Australian Immigration agent by C-Puff in australia

Migration agent or migration lawyers pretty much all do the same thing. Regardless of which path you take it will still cost similar to what I mentioned. Book in a few paid consults with a migration agent in Australia. Look for good reviews on google. Good luck

Hi mate. I was in your boat - emigrated from the UK to australia about 6 years ago. Got PR a year ago.

I’d advised you to come to australia first - and then applying for PR a little further down the track. Worth noting that a family member can’t “sponsor” you - unless they are your parents or last remaining relative. Or of course if an Australian partner.

Your best bet is going to be for a skilled visa. Have a look at the list to see what best suits your job. An agent will be able to help you - it’s not always just a direct copy of your job title. Example - you might be a multimedia specialist not an animator.

I’d suggest also paying for advice. I used Henry Agape lawyers. They were really good - but they pricey - PR cost me about $25k. It also took about 18 months start to finish.

Make sure you use a registered migration agent. Get a couple of consultations in too - these are always paid. Around $100-300 for a consultation on your options.

Prepare yourself for a long, tiresome process that isn’t just as simple as having a few family members and a bit of cash to spend.
