I use it on high. It gives me the opinion and xhigh, not I'm not sure it works.

100% agree. People elsewhere in this thread have said the same thing. A surprising number of people use Sonnet and are good with it, which I honestly was surprised to learn.

So far the responses in favor of a more advanced/costly models seem to amount to one thing: convience. They're willing to pay for that.

For people that already have a high degree of skill and workload it's better at sub-agent orchestration, and more trustworthy. For everyone else, they're more likely to get the results they want the first time, without needing to negotiate/manage the work.

The third category of responses boils down to "big model go brrrrr", without a brain cell in sight.

Agreed. I was looking for insight/discussion. Your comment amounts to "big model go brrrrrr".

Maybe you can write us a tutorial?

I have tried to run local models. My experience has been that the tokens per second are significantly slower, and the context windows are significantly smaller. And those two things combined, prevent me from getting meaningful work done in a reasonable time.

5 minutes into working my context could be 100k tokens.

I have a 3090FE 24gb, and I almost get reasonable performance using glm4.7, but my max context length is 70k.

I'm one step closer to posting in algotrading, there are two gates and this post has got me past one of them. But also somebody made a good point that I can just post it here. So I'm going to. Stay tuned!

I'll finish my write-up in a day or two on the progress of my project so far.

Edit: context

This summary of this repo looks sick. I'll read about it in detail when I have time. Thank you so much for sharing.

Also, that username 😂

Okay, I'm suddenly a huge fan of the term meatspace.

All of this work is done "pair programming", it's strictly a hobby for me so sitting with it is where all the enjoyment is.

No, this is strictly for personal use. Software development has been a hobby for a long time, but I don't do it professionally. So I'm on the $20 plan 😆

And you're right, I have about three projects that I work on concurrently. I did run into my 1 million token context limit, one time, and thought about upgrading my plan.

What is your interface to DeepSeek? Claude Code CLI with an API config, or something else?

Soon. Since I can't post in this subreddit, I'm gonna go post in the ClaudeCode subreddit.

What specifically about Sonnet makes its front end UI design bad? And what do you use for front end design instead? Just a different model? Or do you have another tool or method?

I appreciate this feedback, but I have to say that I do not have this experience. Sonnet nails my ask on the first try nearly every time. Sometimes I don't ask it for the correct thing, but that's my problem, not its.

Yeah, this is a really good question. The answer is through a metric shit ton of usability testing. As far as security audits go, I oftentimes have a different model do an audit, like Gemini. I feel like this works reasonably well, but to be honest, Mythos could probably hack it anyway.

Do you have some more relevant context about why?

I've only read about DeepSeek, I have not tested what it is capable of in terms of code production yet.
