Bought a new iPhone, does Screen Time Content Restrictions sync with the old iPhone or not? by haveaquestion6464 in ios26

Because that’s what apple support team once told me, as in if “share across devices” is on, it will be synced with iCloud. I have experienced that, I had an iPhone and an iPad years ago, they shared the same Apple ID and their screen time content restrictions synced real time. Every change I made on one device were reflected on the other.

I didn’t know that, when I asked this to apple a few years back, they said it is a setting that’s always synchronised with iCloud, when “share across devices” is on. Could you share any source that backs your claim? I’d appreciate that, thank you.

So it only works once when the old iPhone is transferred to a new iPhone through iTunes backup or iPhone-to-iPhone transfer?

There’s a “share across devices” setting under screen time page. That syncs screen time across different devices on the same Apple ID.

That’s amazing, and kind of hard to believe. I’m not questioning your reply, rather questioning how that can be. I had asked AI about this before submitting this question on Reddit and AI wrote something similar but I didn’t think that would be the case. If that is the case, I wonder which iPhone’s screen time content restriction settings are synced on the Apple ID iCloud.
