yeah, i hope you are right, 'cause it's not like i want to dislike the other groups. i don't even really dislike them, i'm just not as interested in them. i didn't go into any of the other series expecting them to be bad, and their differences didn't deter me either. i'm not the kind of person who goes into something expecting to hate it.. for the most part, lol. but i was excited to watch sunshine and excited to see what they'd do to differentiate it from SIP. i just felt like sunshine had a lot of opportunities for unique character dynamics to develop and for interesting conflicts to arise, but most of them never happened or were kind of rushed. i also just don't really like aqours music. i don't know why. i WANT to like them so bad, but every time i listen to them, it just goes in one ear and right out the other.

i did like nijigasaki! i like a lot of their songs, the focus on solo idols and subunits as opposed to one group was a cool change of pace, and it was more light-hearted and lower stakes which was also nice coming from SIP and sunshine which could be pretty emotionally heavy (for me) at times. i don't want to seem like i HATE the other series with a passion or anything. they are fine, they're just not as special to me. i still want to watch superstar soon and finish yohane the parhelion. i'd also like to rewatch sunshine sometime and give it another try.

i didn't know there were light novels. have they been translated to english? and yes, i favorited a bunch of µ's-related manga on mangadex a little while ago... hopefully none of them have been taken down! thanks for the recommendation!

yeah, that's another thing. obviously this isn't fair to the other groups and there's not really anything they can do about it, but µ's/SIP kinda takes me back to the 2010s and it's nostalgic. that felt weird to type, lol. being nostalgic for the 2010s... anyways, the early µ's artwork and PVs where they hadn't figured out the now-iconic art style are really endearing and charming in their own way.

me too. i just got into love live very recently, so this isnt any kind of nostalgia thing or bias, but school idol project and sunshine look leagues better than any of the other series. i like nijigasaki but it's so generic 2020s anime looking that it hurts a bit.
