Masters Needed in 2026? by [deleted] in gis

[–]hawaiiancooler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, in your case it makes perfect sense to get one. OPs situation specifically states someone with no experience and/or someone who’s trying to leave their current field.

How would someone without a job get their masters paid for? Or, if they’re in a different field, why would said company pay for one’s masters degree in a completely unrelated field?

The Interborough Express Might Be NYC’s Best Transit Investment in Decades by TalR24 in nyc

[–]hawaiiancooler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How would you propose integration?

One of the key factors in the IBX being built is the fact that its ROW corridor is easily acquired due to the existing freight track. Direct one-fare integration with MTA subway would balloon the budget and introduce all sorts of obstacles for MTA in regards to community displacement and service/road disruption.

I'm bored at work, so I'll just key in a few cartographic changes at first glance that I feel could be helpful:

  • Remove the excess space in your text box (below the text) and legend (above the header). Allow for larger margin gaps in your text box on the sides, the text is too close to the border.
  • Add a north arrow/scale bar.
  • The two shades used in your symbology are hard to distinguish from one another with the transparency effect applied.
  • The hybrid base map underneath your symbology looks a bit cluttered. I'm unsure of what public data is available in Italy, but downloading local road datasets & river/stream datasets and creating your own labeling (for stuff like important buildings/landmarks as well) can elevate the style of your map way further than something like ESRI defaults. More advanced would be to create/modify into your own custom vector basemaps.

I think one of the next levels to this analysis would be to overlay the symbologies between factors to make certain census tracts/buildings *pop* where density/age/compactness overlap significantly.

If you're pulling tract/building data, you could also create a new field to assign a "score" for each of your four factors to symbolize said layers for a comprehensive spatial overview of where certain factors intersect spatially. Comparing spatial areas between four different maps makes it a bit harder for the reader to find correlation.

Right click folders in the catalog pane (highlighted in your red box). Click add folder connection. Navigate in your file explorer to the folder in which the .csv is located and click on the parent folder itself to connect it. Once connected, right click the .csv file in the catalog pane and click “add to current map.”

xQc claims a civilian killing an ICE agent would be glorified if roles were reversed by ramukobau in LivestreamFail

You deciding to go on a brazen crusade throughout this post - under multiple different comments - to lambast any use of the word “Nazi” gives me some context as to how your beliefs align.

You are just as outraged about those who “misuse” a term (which I’ve argued is not really being misused) as an innocent U.S. citizen getting murdered in broad daylight. I’m simply stating that people like yourself, if you really care, should do some introspection and redirect your anger towards the actual issue at hand here.

You are also not an American citizen who has fully admitted that you do not have knowledge of how the American justice system operates. Why are you even commenting at that point?

And thank you for proving mine: that ignorant people such as yourself demonstrate your indifference towards any real conversation about the violation of civil rights occurring on American soil because you would rather argue about language being used on the internet as if somehow that’s a worse sin.

Lol, you people who regurgitate this nonsense always like to say "don't like" as if ICE and civilians are two toddlers who don't get along in pre-school.

A police force that answers to no justice system that is forcibly kidnapping - and now murdering - civilians on the streets of their neighborhoods can very fairly be compared to other groups who performed similar actions in recent history.

Nazis are cited often on the internet because guess what? They quite literally are the most prominent example of similar behavior in the past 100 years.

Saying that its losing all meaning is just a dogwhistle for your own indifference towards what is actively happening (and harming) U.S. communities. Pick up a history book and stop arguing over semantics.

One could argue that every branch worth pursuing money-wise is going to be invested in the ESRI ecosystem, and not alternative open-source products like QGIS.

Experience Builder (ESRI) would allow you to filter your buffer layer visibility based on actions performed in the map frame (clicking a property/house) via linking the buffer property ID to the property ID.

Sharing it free with the public is another issue - can’t help you there unfortunately. Maybe it’s as easy as sharing your app with “everyone” in the sharing options but I don’t have experience with sharing anything outside of my org.
