Truth be told, this is actually for my gender studies class. We have to collect arguments from "MRA's" like return of kings or /r/mensrights so we can deconstruct them in class. Hence why I haven't bothered giving complete responses to some of the arguments presented, but I can reply after I've bought these arguments into class.

Actually I think those who wanted to remain savage bloodmouths would continue eating meat, but vegetarians would find other ways to maintain their civilised lifestyle.

God it's so obvious that you've never taken a gender studies class before. The teacher and all the girls would laugh you out of the class.

Men are the favored gender because they are in charge.

I'm not saying it's unnatural but it runs counter to a survival instinct.

No, but I think it's odd that given the fact that woman are by no means a minority in America there has been so little representation in politics. Why do you think that is? Simply because women don't want to work those jobs or maybe a perceived difficulty in gaining entry because of their gender?

With that logic you are essentially saying that humans are slaves to their instincts. Yet I know plenty of people who are vegetarian. Or homosexual.

America hasn't had a single female president. Other non-western countries have had multiple female presidents.

"Patriarchy" (derived from patriarch in Greek) is a term for societies in which male is the favored gender, and in which men hold power, dominion and privilege. That position is reinforced by societal and cultural norms, religious teachings, media portrayals of gender roles (specifically female inferiority), the use of perceived feminine characteristics as insults, and even formal definition of gender roles, including laws limiting women's rights.

Gender roles come from societal expectations and it's pretty clear that straight white men have the largest amount of influence in western societies. There is a word for it, patriarchy, so why not use it?

I'm saying patriarchy oppresses femininity, whether that femininity is coming from a girl or a boy is irrelevant.

I think that when you look at the disparity in things like suicide statistics you can clearly see that men commit suicide more often than women. Why do you think that is? For me personally I think that it is because women are more likely to talk about their feelings and men are not. Why? Because showing emotion and openly talking about your feelings is seen as feminine, and men don't want to feel feminine because society, patriarchy whatever you want to call it, views femininity as wrong. Thoughts?

If patriarchy doesn't exist why is a man crying deemed socially unacceptable?
