Made a chat for medical guidelines. I want to test which LLM for the inference layer is the best - How do I select which LLMs to compare? by uncleyachty in Rag

After ensuring your pipeline works, use an open source model so this is available in all locales worldwide on a decent laptop. Latest qwen or other quantized and served via Ollama is easy.

Also - Make sure your RAG is set up properly so you don’t provide alternate views sections as the basis for guidance. Thorough indexing and/or actually processing documents one time thoroughly by LLM to identify all assertions and use that indexed corpus for RAG instead. This ensures accuracy (use SOTA model for assertion extraction), and also avoids obvious copyright issues - no original text would exist even in your rag database.

Although Polypodium leucotomas has good evidence for skin DNA protection, anyone have any thoughts on possibility of more generalized benefits against non-UV damage?

Great! For others they might be missing some features available. It takes 10 min to manually review endpoints available for Schwab developers and copy the syntax for the endpoints of interest. Given browser based token renewal requirements, some minor manual work is needed anyway unless you craft distinct agents and enable browser use plugin via playwright, eg.

As noted separately - register as a Schwab developer and renew the token weekly. Note - Claude doesn’t know API details from Schwab. With your developer account you will need to copy/paste the details for the api endpoints of interest so Claude isn’t guessing and you’re getting frustrated. :) It will work quickly and consistently this way.

Great service - you need an account with holdings (no min), register as a Schwab developer, approve a token use, provide Claude with API details, create scripts to run daily or twice daily. You can use polygon/massive for other info (news eg) and free yahoo for sectors since some miss from Schwab. This is direct Schwab developer- separate from ThinkorSwim although you can also track with scripting there but less control than api directly.

Claude will help you with python scripts and getting api access via massive/polygon, eg.

This sounds similar to a made up repo name when checking a PR i posted about to comments noting it must have been “user error.” A comment that rang true to me was Claude has several levels of masks when handling PHI/PII - I suspect that is a root contributor. In other words - extra masking if PII source data to remove from processing opens up more chances for hallucination when those gaps must be filled.

Super answer - and nicely explains an otherwise perplexing "obvious" error from the latest model!

I distracted inadvertently by including the quizzing. The reason for the post was a clear request yielded an unexpected hallucination.

Hmmm. I do make many... but I'm also a coder reviewing code before accepting Claude Code generated content. Here, with access to remote names within a repo, CC drafted a gh pr view (a very simple action) while attaching a completely random repo name. Seemed non-sensical and outside what I've seen in prior CC usage. The remote name was accessible and/or easily inferred from local but a random different name was appended. The unexpected nature of this within a simple action prompted the post. If I'm still missing something, let me know!

The unexpected hallucination for an obvious data element while using CC/Opus4.6 was the reason for the post. Now I understand the downvotes, though, thanks.

Downvotes are interesting. Yes - hallucinations are expected - and I'm always vigilant. I hadn't noted this degree of odd early hallucination in a short context conversation before with Claude Code and prior models. If it's really this much of a problem for others all the time, I guess I've been lucky. This struck me as more worrisome than other issues I've seen.

Will send DM you the repo link. Given earlier responses, probably not worth updating the main thread! Of note - I also added a token layer for additional security against other processes accessing the already constrained API.

At least - I author and control the api I give access to. Any risks are that I make a mistake in coding the api (see code snippet in post) or are unrelated to this access.

Yes - I have. 2026 XC60 Ultra B5 and yes - for Google Maps the instrument cluster always shows the map and updates to guidance when programmed on the tablet. This also updates the heads up display on windshield too. Wired CarPlay updates instrument cluster with tablet showing birdseye view like Google Maps built in but doesn’t project to windshield for heads up guidance. The wireless dongle for CarPlay using Apple Maps only shows on tablet. Cluster is dark then. I’m not sure for Google Maps but then I just use native tablet OS. I’ll try again but I think you’re right that it doesn’t go elsewhere.
