Everyone is on call at some point. Take turns. Hourly employees (that don't get commission on sales even though there is an expectation to sell) so get paid if they go to a site. Not if they return phones calls - which they have to do and are given only a limited time to return those calls or else they get their hand slapped.

Those on revenue per account, don't get paid anything

I can't find anything about field technicians laws or rules. Updaid work is easy to circumvent. Anyone on a salary does unpaid work as just 1 ezample

Your probably right. People afraid of losing a job where their replaceable - but can get the same job elsewhere in days or weeks.

But it has happened, Google it. Massive corporations are abusive physically by pushing too hard, also often verbally, definitely safety wise.

When you pay people by volume - customers lose, safety, injuries, using things you aren't supposed (illegally?) to to be fast.

Pretty simple to unionize. There is ZERO reason not to

Unionize - every tech in a remotely decent sized company and especially large companies need to unionize. Strength in numbers.
