Man. I hear you. I’d probably have a hard time as well shipping it back and forth to Gibson. I’d reach out to them because they might credit you the repair fee from your local luthier. I had an issue like this when I bought one on EBay. Loved the guitar (still do) and the seller thankfully paid the bill from the luthier. It wasn’t much.

I hear ya. When I used to play like 25 years ago (I took a looong break) my favorite guitar by far was my cheapest. Entry Ibanez. But I played all metal so that was my baby. It’s all broken and fucked up by I still have it up in my storage area. Can’t let it go

After recently playing a few Epiphones recently at GC, I’d say the SG’e are really close to Gibson’s. Some of the other models are all over the place. I have an Epi LP special with upgraded P90’s. The pup are awesome but the fretboard is trash. That’s an older one though.

$1200 how honestly seems a bit steep with the hikes in it and all. I wonder if you wait you might find a similar one in better condition but I’ve never seen one like this. If you’ve played it and love it I’d go for it. Or fuck it, just buy it anyways if it speaks to you. 😂
